As a spanish person i can say that lechon doesnt only mean the meal (the typical pig with the apple on its mouth) its mostly used to refer to baby pigs (piglets?) It refers to the fact that baby pigs need to drink milk from their mothers (as any mammal uwu). Once they stop doing it they are no longer a lechon (leche=milk)

Yeah i remember telling someone that lechon isnt synonymous to suckling pig for spanish speakers. Thats literally just what we call a small pig like 80% of the time.

@Animatron He's actually never watched Family Guy, learned this from his reply to me, but Quagsire does come from quagmire which means a soft boggy area of land that gives way under foot, so like a muddy or swampy area.

Hey Subjectively, I just had a fun suggestion. Since you mentioned you needed more Normal types in Mazah, and since Lechonk's official evolution will most likely have a different name, type, & appearance in the Paldea Region, maybe you could make Lechonk and it's "alternate evolution" Susbristle Pokemon that exist in the Mazah Region. I'm pretty sure you don't have a pig Pokemon in the Mazah Region yet.

If they ever do a Greece based Pokémon region, I’d love a split evolution of Smolive based on Athena. Could have a leaf helmet crest, and an olive for the shield Aegis (which yes is technically Zeus’ but it had a lot to do with her too). Maybe there’s some spiked olive species that can make a spear or something IDK

Spanish here. "Lechón" is not only the name of a dish, in fact "lechón" is the more accurate term to refer to a baby piglet. Even we use sometimes as a synonym of pig. I think they have, actually, take the name of lechonk of that meaning of the term and not the roasted pork dish. Also it looks a lot like the "Cerdo iberico" (Iberian Pig) that is a type of pig very common on the Iberian Peninsula.

In México we also know piglets as "Lechón", well at least I know people who call them that way. You're right, Lechonk name comes from the combination of the Spanish word Lechón, and the English word chonk and is inspired by an Iberian Piglet, their characteristics are the color and their big ears.

Although the leaks have came and we already know the evolutions and stuff, I love that you've done this anyway to see what your ideas were and they could work as some cool redesigns, remember when you did those? Can't wait for the competition winners video, a friend of mine submitted and I hope his gets chosen not gonna say who it is but I just hope they were chosen. Also since you said for those who saw the leaks to say how close you got them, from the starters video the Fuecoco final evolution was probably the closest since you got the right part it focuses on. For this video the fact that your Lechonk evo is just a simple pig is correct, I can say yours is better by miles. For your Smoliv, sorry but no, the design is great and I love it but this time they made it more gender neutral, that's all I'll say about that. Finally for the Paldean Wooper evolution, it isn't a Paldean Quagsire, Quagmire is a Family Guy character, yours is better the official one is good but yours is better because you actually do something with the skeletal motif, it just dissappears.

Jack's design concept sense on the first two were absolutely spot on, even if the official results were different. As for Paldean Wooper evolution, that one went in a direction I don't think anyone would have guessed, but he is an adorable big boy and I love him! Suggestion, on the last trailer we got what seems to be the ancient and futuristic variants of Donphan (avoiding spoilers!). Maybe that could be a cool challenge, make a futuristic/ancient variant of Pokémon. Maybe make some for your own fakemon region?

I like your lechonk better than the evo we get officially. Smolivs line looks good both here and officially, but its ironic how sedentary the real one gets as opposed to the floating one here. And as much as I love just how friend-shaped the official quagsire variant is, this one plays more into the motifs set up by wooper.

Hey, congratulations on the wedding and the shiny. Two very different scales of celebration. Personally I agree in trying to avoid the spoilers and just find out things as they come. I think you have a good idea with lechonk. It'll probably be more about either helping find or just being a choosy eater itself, rather then ending up, well, cooked in it's evolution. The evolution you made was an absolute chonker. As someone who's seen a few other interpretations of smolive's evos before the Big Leak yours follows more along the path that I'm hoping it takes. And I love that people keep putting a white 'skull mask' over paldean quagsire.

If I gotta be honest, you're decently close with the evo's of these three. I have not seen the leaked dex properly yet. So, idk what the majority of the dex looks like. *But* , I have *heard* about what they all look like, including these three lines. So I got a idea of how they all look like. How close did you get? Well: - The Smoliv line you got, let's say, majorly close. - With Quagmire you are really close. I'm impressed. - And with the evo of lechonk you're honestly 50/50 in my opinion. You missed one major aspect of the evo. nothing more, nothing less. But I do love your speculations of what these evolutions could look like. Maybe you should do this more often when the chance is given.

@@mangohub3252 Pokemon designs follow a pattern, there are principles to it. Gen 9 does not follow them. Not even the simple concept as a pokemon looking like being your friend. There are some mons that will traumatize kids with their designs. The Mazah region for example follow the pokemon design principles, those look like pokemon. The Gen 9 mons do not look like real pokemon. Even if you like them and see them as good designs, you cannot say they are pokemon looking still.

i'm new to your channel, so if you've already done this, don't mind me but i would adore seeing a mazzah regional variant of wooper and quagsire that incorporates elements of the axolotl and maybe even references to the Aztec god Xolotl. you could also connect it to the themes of modernism vs traditionalism by incorporating its real life status as endangered (in the wild) due to habitat loss in Mexico City's waterways. you could make a critique here on the consequences of industrialization/ "progress" on our ecosphere.

These are great. Mostly better than the actual designs we see. It'd be cool to see you draw some alternate Paldea Pokémon based on their inspirations and typings. At this point after looking at the leaks, I think you're better than at least some on the official team.

i know people have probably mentioned it, but you ALMOST got it right with fuecoco line! :D re: the pokemon in THIS video, lechonk's evo being related to "sniffing out food" is close, but i'll let you guess if it's the "finding food" or "sniffing" theme. love the susbristle name though xD smoliv evo is close, but differently? canon 3rd evo is different though! i think you and claire would LOVE canon paldean wooper! :)

Your designs are great as always. I can say you're not even close on tge Wooper evo, but in the ballpark for the Smoliv evo. Everyone is going to be shocked by some of these new designs.
