Actually I think that Fernando Santos should have kept cr7 on the bench as a sub from the start of this wc; not to spite him but because it's the right thing to do for the team as a whole. You have to consider his age. He is not as fast as he use to be and he gets tired fairly quickly so it would be the right thing to do to keep him on the bench and put him on later in the match in critical situations. I think by doing that it would bring out the best in Ronaldo and the team as a whole would play more confidently from the start knowing that they have a backup secret weapon on the bench.

Even this world cup, I dont know why they havent been talked about more; they have top 3 players in their positions, IN MULTIPLE POSITIONS, namely Cancelo, Dias, Silva, Fernandes, while still having quality players like Dalot, Felix, Pepe (portugal's best player in the euro 2016 btw), nuno mendes, etc. I honestly think that people intentionally underestimate them so that CR7 doesnt get much backlash if they dont go far, especially since he does hold them back sometimes in terms of structure, due to his lack of flexibility (he can play in only one position mostly these days).
