"Let the feast begin" is clearly a reference to Poison Cooking, from one of the mafia animes of all time, Katekyo Cicadas Reborn.

The end of the episode had me dying. Sin and Sophie speed reading the rhymes was great. Lmao.

Tangentially related, but thanks to Sophie, now I finally understand why the monsters in Gears of War are called the Locusts

I can definitely agree with the sentiment that the story of the Angels changed a million times, the last one being 5 minutes before shipping. The Twin Princes' boss room is filled with white feathers. Lothric's spells produce angel feathers like the Divine Pillars of Light Miracle. Who's to say, but I think Gertrude may have been so sudden and underdeveloped because her story may have originally been, in some form, intended for Lothric. Perhaps, originally he was suppose to forsake the Flame Faith for the Angelic one imparted by Kaathe. We do see a bunch of wing statues of Kaathe around and back when DS3 was recent I recall hearing that originally winged Kaathe was suppose to show up in the Twin Prince boss room but that was apparently back when "Gods' Grave" was still suppose to be a map in game.

Very cool and chill, definitely no sense of foreboding dread heard throughout the entire episode brought on by the fatigue of making content on a single topic for so long, definitely no narrative parallels to Dark Souls 3: Ringed City, which this episode is coincidentally about ;)

I find it interesting that Sophie thinks the shadow lands make the underground Numen areas redundant, cus I actually think the opposite. I think they give a pretty clear snapshot of what Numen influence in the lands between looked like before and after Marika's coverup

Thanks for the DS3 refresher! I remember thinking those preacher poems were indecipherable when Ringed City first launched. Haha and they seem so obvious now as you recap it. And thanks for explaining the locusts/cicadas stuff! I never knew that they represent seasons changing. And I definitely never before connected the locusts to the angels in the Dreg Heap and therefore the angels of Gertrude's religion. Without digging up item descriptions I feel like there's some way to reconcile that Gertrude was locked up even though Lorian and Lothric were also pro-Age-of-Dark. Because the angel religion was deemed heretical, right? Like blue Lothric Knights were angel religion and red lothric knights were the fire religion and that's why they fight each other. Maybe I'm mistaken but I assumed in DS3 anything deemed heretical was done so by Pontiff Sulyvahn. Which I think tracks because Sulyvahn was like a Painted World dark type guy until he found the Profaned Flame and then he shifted directions to burning ambition and usurping power and killing gods. So like... maybe the red Lothric knights were pro-fire and therefore fell in line with Sulyvahn's profaned flame based religion take over. Blue knights, Gertrude, and the twins all liked the dark and angels. So... perhaps it wasn't Lorian and Lothric who imprisoned Gertrude? Perhaps it was the red knights and whichever leaders they followed? Sorry for writing a book. You tickled my imagination and nostalgia at the same time! Thanks for the video!

Wish I could get into 40k, but it all seems so self-serious. At least the orks don't give a shit about the grand pedigree of the other dumb aliens, but every other part of the universe seems too EdGY 4 me.

One, waited two years for a DLC that ended with a recycled boss from the main game that ended up being nerfed a second time. Yet, the Ring City DLC ends with you fighting the greatest character in the franchise, Slave Knight Gael, a perfect send off. Fear not the dark my friend and let the feast begin.

I loved this video in part because it exposes DS3 as the half fanfiction half parody that it is. Also, I think there's something wrong with your sprite tv. You keep trying to change the channel away from Dark Souls 3 footage (understandable) but the channel dial doesn't do anything.
