+Ginsuma Married women who wanna "party with the girls" are in dire need of a little bit of the good old slap-in-the-fuckin-face medicine administered by their husbands. Stay at home with your families you fuckwits. Grown ass men who go to discos and such are just as despicable.
@AtrumMixer
@AtrumMixer 7 жыл бұрын
Actually most married women in first world countries need a night out with the girls just like married men need a night out with the boys. Raising a family takes a lot of energy and parents will have to recharge from time to time in order to refuel their individual side. The other cultures you mention are male dominated and none individual based. That means a woman who spends time outside her home without her husband is seen as legit sexual prey because she's breaking the societal norm.

Actually while living in Japan and turkey, I did experience the reverse. "You from America. You been to hollywood, you know tom cruise?" I was also assumed to be a cowboy, and extremely wealthy for some reason. And I shortened my name after they couldn't pronounce it. So the "What if" part is misleading, cause it does actually happen. I didn't find it insulting, I was just like, ah, this is what it feels like, and was having fun with it. When people go from their own cultures to a new one, its not uncommon to experience stereotypes from the locals meeting you. Its what they have absorbed knowledge of your own culture and are simply curious.

+LtSarge Just say yes. I've been to Costa Rica, in some small villages where they had never seen a white, blonde boy before. They asked me if I was an actor, if I owned "every Mercedez" etc. I would just say yes to intrigue them. And that's how I became a celebrity in a Costa Rican village.

+Genetics and Civilization Hah, I don't think i'd be able to resist the urge to fuck with everyone I met either. Works even better if you closely resemble a celebrity. Dye my hair a few shades darker I could probably fool some Costa Ricans into thinking I was Daniel Radcliffe myself.

+WitheringintheDark I remember when I first went to Australia and I sat in on classes at a local high school -- I was a sophomore at the time and followed an Australian sophomore to all of his classes. I took detailed notes, answered every question from the teacher, and pretended to be an all-star genius (because we had literally learned this material at my school a few months prior). I was then asked how I knew everything and said how in the US, every student is quiet and a strong note-taker and everyone is worried that whatever is said will be on the exam, that I am actually the worst student in my class, etc. An American exchange-student came up to me later and whispered: "Your school is so scary." The other Australians looked on in horror.

James Bond, since when is getting butthurt at something I subjectively find offensive and then responding with a relevant OFFENSIVE remark bad? It is not defensive to respond by taking a stab at the offender's race. Defensive is when after I insult somebody in such manor they try to make themselves or their own race look good to recover. Like seriously you used counterattack and defensive to refer to the same action ahahahhahahahah! I do not understand why succeeding at communicating in a heated situation means getting the first stab at the other person in a smart-ish sounding way but then they are not to respond? And even if you did not mean to offend, what really makes it bad is calling them butthurt and refusing to further appropriately communicate. After you both fire shots you could try to work it out instead of point out the fact that yes you were offensive and thus made someone butthurt. Saying black people are more likely to commit a crime is a FACT (when compared to white people and with the assumption we are in the U.S.), saying you specifically (black person... presumably) are more likely to commit a crime is a stereotype... i.e. a relevant and actually good comeback. Oh and finally, James Bond, your comment itself is a negative (from your point of view, refer to my first sentence of the first paragraph) stereotype about white people... you should really consider A. trying to be more understanding when someone takes offensive to what comes out of your mouth (even if you think it is not offensive, it's their feelings hurt not yours) and B. try to cherish or at least comprehend every unique individual's attributes as factors that cause such a response of offense (or any response at all).

You misunderstood completely ;/ Our entire exchange was about how in the hypothetical situation you set up what would be the right thing to do and it was about how you were making wrong statements. I am not calling you stupid because this was a bit convoluted (and meta :D) and I could have been a little more clear. Please do not say I was twisting your words. I used your quotes to put emphasis on what I was referring to and I took entire whole quotes NO TWISTING THEIR so please learn what twisting means. If you take anything from this exchange be it is that if you were to offend anyone in any future communications what you describe in your first comment is not the right attitude. It is not fair to not let them respond if you were the offensive one. You are welcome to comment again with your thoughts (and I will gladly read :D) but if you are going to repeatedly argue with no new original thoughts then I might not respond. And for the love of all that is anything please know that in the english language it is acceptable to quote someone in the same context that quote was said if in its entirety and its not considered twisting words. Like damn, seriously learn that.

The "reversed" actually happens when one travels abroad to non-white majority countries. Or to any foreign country, for that matter. This is nothing out of the ordinary, only exactly what one would (and should!) expect when encountering a expect. Even if a white, Anglo-Saxon couple moved to Kazakhstan and had kids, the children, even if "from" Kazakhstan, will still need to expect Kazakhs potentially having difficulty pronouncing their names. It's normal.

This is true. As an American who lived for two years in Africa, I can confirm this. I got all sorts of stereotypes and such thrown at me. Or people who wanted to come and talk about american politics or other "popular" U.S. topics to me and assumed I'd be interested just cause Im american. Or they'd say that i didn't "look american" and i looked like some other Caucasian nationality.

Andrew Ketchum well... no ones really american unless they are 100% native american. america is a country of immigrants. for ex, i’m american but i look italian, cuz that’s my heritage, my friend is also american, but he looks Bangladeshi, because that’s his heritage. so (unless ur 100% native american) no one “looks” american

Actually it's a tradition to eat with your hands, it's even mentioned in Vedas as well. And also says that the food that gets eaten by our hand gives you more satisfaction and nutrition. And to prove a point, there is a more diverse lifestyle in India called city life vs Rural life, according to research and my personal experience as being a villager, that villagers live longer and healthier than average human living in a city with a more hygienic lifestyle. Especially, even farmers who grow food for our nation and export to many countries, not only live longer and are healthier but are considered to be more physically stronger as well. All courtesy of eating our food with our hands and making it the most natural way possible...

+san jai Who said we all have dark skin color ? have you ever been to Sri Lanka ? majority Sri Lankans got light skin tones , people from southern part of Sri Lanka got a light skin 84% (Sinhalese ) while people from north part of Sri Lanka got a dark skin 7% (Tamils). Same as India . Sinhalese people in Sri Lanka and most Indians are Aryans, and that's why we do look similar to Indians. And due to our/Sri Lankan climate our skin might be little darker than yours but not all of us. When non-Sri Lankans ask me whether I'm a Indian its really pisse off me, then I have to explain that majority Sri Lankans got light skin tone.
