I don't exist as any "screen" when i go to sleep, so I guess it will be the same when I die

Hey Alex, have you heard of General Subjective Continuity? It's an interesting naturalistic approach to death that strongly critiques the possibility of there being "nothing" after death.

Sounds interesting! I'm also pretty sure you didn't take my "nothing" as "nothing happens", but just checking lol

I have wondered about near death experiences, but since death has not been completed in these experiences, I wonder if they can really tell us anything about death. Altered states of perception appear to happen to people in out of body experiences, but again the person is still alive. So I am not sure what these can really tell us about death. People through illness, drugs, anxiety, etc, can see things which are not really there. N.D.Es may be nothing more than some altered sense of reality which is not really there.

Sure! However, I'm not sure what your measurement is for "death not being completed". And you're still coming from the position of us being fundamentally material people, rather than fundamentally consciousness. None of this seems likely, rational, or logical if we believe are just material people in a material world. From the paradigm of a "consciousness only" model of the universe, these experiences are a possible expression of consciousness.

@@AlexShailer hello Alex. You say I come from the position of us being fundamentally material people. I cannot see where I said that in my post. Could you clarify please.

You're are, we are, infinite consciousness, and so it's definitely possible.

but your ego, personality will die. Death is the end of ourselves as we see us now.
@AlexShailer3 ай бұрын
I get what you mean. However, in my model, the ego isn't the personality, it's the belief that you ARE the personality. I think "Personality" aspects (or perhaps "Soulality" aspects hehe) may continue the after death of the body. I just don't want to spout dogma, and want to allow others to discover their own truth.

@@AlexShailer Thanks for the comment 🙂 our personality is built during our live, it will die so we must be prepared the process of dying is not so nice, some part of us will not survive.

We can't know anything, and thinking about these things is just more noise. Open your eyes, look around you, and don't touch a single thought. That's it. Nothing more is needed.
@AlexShailer3 ай бұрын
It sounds like there's assumptions here, that there is some kind of "need" for something else, and that thinking about these things, and the acquisition of that "need" are mutually exclusive.
@StuartJ3 ай бұрын
@@AlexShailer The "need" is implicit in the title of this video. What good does it do to project into the future?

@StuartJ3 ай бұрын
@@AlexShailer on a practical level maybe. But your title also says Non Duality. So how does projecting into the future, square with that?
@AlexShailer3 ай бұрын
@@StuartJIt doesn't, when it comes to the recognition of our true nature as Non-Dual consciousness. But here, I'm not primarily trying to point to the recognition (although it's woven through), I'm talking FROM the recognition.
