What Worries Me About My 2023 Pre-orders

Another year, and another line up of anime figure pre-orders. But am I ordering the right figures? Let's go over why I pre-ordered some figures, while discussing what worries me.

Before I get to the figures, I just want to say the editing on your videos is genuinely next level and feels luxurious to the eyes. Everything about it from the rich audio to the composition and colour choices. Just pause the video at 01:28 and look at all that is going on there. The photo is big in screen, bright and perfectly sharp. It's edges are faded so it transitions delightfully into that marvellous blurred background that adds all kinds of interest with its shapes and colours, yet doesn't for a second draw the eye away from what is being shown. That's so good! And then there's the font; the colouring coding of the letters to make them pop (love the green of go for likes and red of stop/danger for worries!); and finally there's that nicely thick black outline to make it all stand out clearly. Bravo. Yeah, you've sensational editing skills for sure. 04:07 I am super excited for Hemet Nethel from Falslander by Neco. The first time I saw the concept figure I was utterly blown away by that incredible helmet. It's such an amazing design, clever, stylish and memorable. Like you, I wasn't too keen on her face, but as the helmet is the attraction for me I don't mind because I wouldn't display her with her face revealed. As for the hair, I like that. The almost monotone pink pastel shade sets off the jet black of her armour perfectly. And then there are those super long legs encased in thigh high stockings and high heels.

Thanks for the feedback! It makes me happy to hear you enjoyed the video. You make a good point about the monotone pink pastel hair color for Hemet, I'm hoping it looks phenomenal. It's so hard to tell from promotional photos since their lighting can really throw off what it may look like once you get it in your hands and in your display case. And I agree with you, the helmet really makes the character stand out.

Imagine how honored you must feel as an artist, when your art gets a figure release. But if Shoshuu ist the kind of quality, we can expect, I hope they're making many many more.

Yeah, it would be awesome to have figures of characters you create. And I feel Shoshuu surprised a lot of people with it's quality, probably because lower expectations. I find when I have high expectations for figures, movies, games, etc. things never quite live up to them... guess I should change that. Haha.

I think you'll get your chance to pick her up. I recently got my hands on the Asuka Jersey Ver. and am planning on opening both of them together. But it took a bit of patience to finally find her at a reasonable price. And I feel there will be more Radio Eva Versions on the market. Now that I just checked... You can still preorder the Radio version on AmiAmi... so they have a large stock of them beyond the initial pre-orders. You'll definitely get that chance to get her.

I completely agree. And being able to return or replace her would be a nightmare too. I imagine they are going to pack her like the GSC Asuna figure with the crazy hair. Basically, with a ton of bags over every branch and fabric piece. But, I am hoping she'll turn out good, I'm doubting she'll be released this year though.

There’s a lot of arknights figures I’m excited for this year which Is pretty much a arknights year of figure for me except for the chainsaw man fig from estream, marine from hololive, and a nendroid for the first time for a friend birthday of justice from Helltaker

I love the Arknight figures. I feel if I start getting them, I'll start collecting them as I do Fate figures... I would need to get a second house to store all of them. 😅

If I had to guess the shipping cost I would say the minimum is probably 300 on the last figure because of the size and the heft to it

Indeed. No shame. Mostly a joke about the addiction since I'm not doing a great job at stopping when I have so many pre-orders. Though my current problem is running out of space, and not wanting to get rid of any figures because I love them all. 😆

Japan no longer needs to wear masks. The coronavirus has subsided. Many anime and manga original drawings and exhibitions will be held this year as well. There are plenty of original drawings and works on display such as “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Tokyo Manji Revengers” Bleach, Mob Psycho 100, Saiyuki, “Jojo”, “Berserk”, “Kimetsu no Yaiba”, and “Yoshihiro Togashi”.
