You just know Batman would be on gear, too. He definitely has that, "Whatever it takes" attitude. But it would be like, hyper advanced stuff that we don't even know about. Greater advantages than normal gear, and fewer or no side-effects

Yeah. Normally I don't think people should use gear cause the "goals" they help with aren't relevant to normal people (and if you think they are, consider therapy first). Batman's out there saving lives with hand to hand combat though, go ahead and take anything that helps :p

Do you really think that gear helps strengthen muscle long term? As soon as you stop using it, there's that sad period of time if it isn't completely maintained where you lose half of your size. My understanding is that the size comes but the residual muscle when cycling off, will drop off fairly quickly if you aren't persistent. Gear is not an option, but some supps and research chemicals definitely are. If you have some inside knowledge, educate me. I'm always willing to learn something new.

@@NobodyCaresALot "some supps and research chemicals definitely are" gear by any other name at some point there. I also don't think Batman is prioritizing 20+ years in the future over the present, when his present is so dangerous. Plus, it'd be his company / lab doing the research, he could find the best possible stuff.

There is, actually, a sleep schedule irl that works out to like an hour or two spread out into like 4-8 15 minute segments throughout the day. Apparently, it takes months to develop and those months are pretty rough, but eventually the body learns to jump immediately to deep sleep, the most restorative sleep for the brain (which usually only takes up a small portion of sleep). It’s good for mental recovery, and you can stay on it indefinitely, but it apparently sucks for physical recovery (like from high intensity hand-to-hand combat with Gotham street thugs).

Someone like Batman obviously takes PEDs. There's absolutely no reason for him to not take it. Most of his Villains have superpowers and he doesn't. He's not training to compete in a sport but rather fight off his opponents. There would be no moral or ethical conflict in Bruce Wayne in taking PEDs to be strong.
@atrain3441
@atrain3441 2 жыл бұрын
@@gabbar51ngh The reason Batman doesn't take PEDs is because if he were to go a certain amount of time before said drugs wear off, then he would permanently be at the physical disadvantage in his crime fighting. It's easier and safer to just *be* that good rather than temporarily modify yourself to get there.
@gabbar51ngh

@@atrain3441 You either don't understand how those work or simply not knowledgeable enough on human body. He can already be good enough & training rigorously but taking them would enhance it even more. By not taking it he would be at far more disadvantage. No idea how it would be safer as he could easily maintain a low dosage cycle under supervision. Plus he's rich enough to afford both. It's definitely not easier to just be that good as you are trying to say. Try competing in sports where PEDs are allowed. You simply won't be able to reach that stage by staying all natural. Any experienced athelete would tell you that.

in "the batman files" there are a lot of examples of his training and what he utilizes for his overall fitness. at first glance one would think the routine would kill the average man but there have been constant examples of powerlifters/olympic lifters portraying crazy strength with certain lifts. in most versions of the comics batman never was doing like bicep curls or little isolation movements but always doing big compound movements like you said. but also he heavily utilizes bodyweight movements. i believe the most accurate representation of his training would be powerlifting/olympic movements like the bench, deadlift, squat, ohp, snatch, cleans, clean and jerk lifts (most of this isnt speculation it is actually in the files of his workout lol) whilst also adding in muscle ups, pull ups, push ups and all kinds of calisthenics whilst weighted. and when it comes to his endurance work you def hit the nail on the aspect of traditional cardio such as running, swimming, martial arts practice. as far as diet goes? i like the example they had given but if he isnt to crazy on it then i guess no reason to stress over it. he is doing a LOT of working out on top of being on patrol so its obvious that batman looks as insane as he does. Point blank, if you wanna train like batman? utilize heavy and powerful compound movements that were listed with maybe some isolation movements ( i recall seeing him max out on a tricep extension machines) throw in some weighted movements and traditional cardio and bam. you are THE BATMAN (kinda :D)

In absolute honesty, here is what I honestly think about what majority of Batman's strength training should consist of.... One arm divebomber push ups, One arm pull ups, One leg full rom jump squats. Why this choice of exercises? By constantly increasing the number of max reps on these movements, even beyond 100 reps per exercise perhaps (he is a peak human ffs), while constantly bulking up in bodyweight at the same time... He makes sure that his relative strength, absolute strength (because bodyweight is going up), explosive strength (because relative strength is a big part of it) and endurance keeps going up, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. In terms of max effort training, I believe he does max effort isometric contractions for each and every muscle group in his body, like trying to rip apart thicker steel chains over time. Maxing out or increasing 1rm strength is simply about neural efficiency, lifting a barbell in squat form and trying to rip a seatbelt strap tied in a loop around your feet in a squatting motion is NOT different, and produces the same max effort strength qualities. So high reps till failure on the most challenging bodyweight exercises and max effort isometric training for individual muscle groups. That is what I am betting on. As for diet, Batman lives on peanut butter sandwiches, milk and coffee, this is official canon lol, it was shown in the Hellbat Armor storyline, Alfred constantly scolds him for not trying expensive meals for some years straight.

Tbh this level of training and diet that Batman does on a daily basis is insane, let alone maintainable for the average human being. I think the diet portion is a bit easier but you’ll have to factor in what type of training regiment you’re going to do to achieve Batman’s physical goals and body strength that he has. Overall I think in order to achieve this and the time it takes will be about 3 years minimum and not giving up halfway through your training and exercise routine plus a very strict diet plan.

@florene bleu max effort isn't difficult to recover from, more volume is though. Max Effort also doesn't mean using a competition max, it means using a training max at 90-92.5% of your best that gradually increases over time with more weight, sets or reps. There's also 85% max efforts done for triples and 100% max efforts that are done at suboptimal angles (such as overhead presses and snatch grip deadlifts) that are only a fraction of the load on the CNS for deloading. Batman has no reason not to have maximal strength and he's intelligent enough to know how to vary it on his joints and nervous system the same as the athletes at Westside

Batman is literally at an Olympic level in everything he does, his lifts are elite, his sprint speed is elite, his acrobatics and flexibility are elite, and his martial arts skills are also elite. In real life not even steroids would help you get that good, but in the comics the only way batman can be like this and still be somewhat relatable to a normal person is if he also took some sort of PED. Also in the comics Batman tried Bane's venom for the simple reason of trying to get stronger, and venom is basically a super steroid.

Awesome video! I know a lot of people are talking about whether Bruce's body could handle the physical strain of the workouts & combat on a daily basis. What makes me more curious is how he's maintaining this schedule & peak condition on what's essentially a 3rd as well as occasionally 1st-shift or 2nd shift schedule, with maybe 3-4 hours of sleep on a regular basis. I know another person in the comments referenced comics material about him learning ancient meditation techniques that could give him 8 hours of rest in like 2 hours' time, but with the amount of physical intensity he puts it through I would think he'd have to have at least 1-2 nights per week where he sleeps for at least 9-12 hours for recovery. Especially after those nights where he gets injured fighting Bane, getting stabbed by Joker, or catching a stray bullet from a squad of goons with machine guns.

If I'm not mistaken, in the comics they explained it as microsleeps. So he sleeps like 4 times a day throughout the day in order to be awake when it matters most. It's similar to the Uberman Sleep Schedule if you're curious and wanting to do research on it. It's probably really straining on his body though due to the exercise and fighting as well as the sheer amount of time that he's awake for as if he only sleeps for an hour and 20 minutes a day that leaves 22 hours and 40 minutes left that he's awake, which is insane.

I definitely love this video that you made about Batman's workout training methods 💯👍. As far as the martial arts portion of your video, me personally I really don't think it matters since a lot of Batmans fighting methods really factor in more towards Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, and Krav Maga. I think the most logical one would be from the animated film Batman: bad blood special features that actually shows what the artists as well as the Director wanted for The Dark Knight to have his own personal fighting style modeled after real life martial artists.

This video was very fun to watch! A cool video idea would be to break down Batman’s finishing moves in his final fight with the mutant leader. I love how Batman disassembles the Mutant Leader with the arm bar and then transitions to a knee bar I believe. Another cool thing is thinking about Batman’s meditation capabilities. In the Arkham City DLC Harley Quinn’s revenge. Bruce is captured by Harley and enters a meditative state to save oxygen wait for Robin to save him. Really cool!

Did I hear you right, 210 lbs? In the comics and animation they always portray him as being seriously jacked. 210 lbs. on a 6'2" frame doesn't look that jacked. I'm using NFL receivers as a reference and they look much longer and leaner than everybody else.
@WoodsP51
@WoodsP51 2 жыл бұрын
That caught my attention when he said that as well. I always pictured Batman as closer to 6'2" and 230ish lbs; more like an NFL linebacker. Of course, it varies based on which specific comic line you're reading... I can see early/young Batman being closer to 210 lbs, but middle-aged batman must be 220+. If you're eating that many calories and exercising 3+ hours per day and you're only 210 at 6'2", I'd estimate that you're doing something wrong.

statistically it is more grounded since he has to be somewhat agile; but then because this is a comic book character, the stats are usually not that accurate similar to how anime characters are always off when it comes to proportions
@WoodsP51
@WoodsP51 2 жыл бұрын
@@oofmaroomph4913 You can be 230 lbs and still be agile. That’s about the average size of most outside linebackers at the college level (or higher) and those dudes would still run circles around 98% of the population. I’m 6’0”, 210 lb Marine, so I’d say I’m more fit than the average Joe… But no way I’m standing up to a mother f***** like Bane lol. Now to get fair, if I was 20 lbs heavier, that assessment prolly wouldn’t change :).

Truthfully I would look at Delta Force training as the most accurate depiction of real life Batman training. You could probably throw some Israeli special forces training in the mix to for sure. Gonna get straight to it; Aikido is a root art of Daito Ryu (look at up). The closes character (in anime) like setting that uses this form is Shibukawa from Baki the Grappler (2004) series . Jujutsu aka manipulation of joints, is part of this Martial art. Judo and Aikido are root arts from Daito Ryu - i.e. made for modern day applications. Most kata, or learning phase of Daito comes from Kendo or fencing. BUT THAT IS NOT to say it does not have modern day applications. Classic example is ki plus ki , which a modern day boxer uses by turning the head or body WITH opponents direction of blow. Kenichi is another anime where you see, Jujutsu. Again , not talking down just pointing out.

This, 100% No way a person does this in real life.
