We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 NOR did he rise again and take his place at the right hand of the Father: “Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” - Mathew 26:64 NOR is he going to be your Judge at JUDGEMENT DAY >> “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before G0D; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Revelation 20:12 So does that answer your question as to why JESUS and no other?

@wwlib5390
@wwlib5390 10 күн бұрын
@AshaCrone Good question. That would depend. IMO there are 'weak' and 'strong' Believers - and 'weak' and 'strong' atheists. A 'weak' believer is given the Gospel, receives it gladly and then the trials and tribs in their lives begin to choke the Word out and doubts blossom and they turn away. A 'strong' believer is given the Gospel, implements the teachings and character of Jesus into their lives, tests the promises contained in His many Names and recognizes evidence of God's presence in their lives with miracles, answered prayer (and delayed answers), healings, etc, and, even through the ups and downs of life, and through those experiences come to actually KNOW Christ as the disciples knew Him and finally, has come to Peter's conclusion 'where else would I go? You have the Words of Life." For the weak believer, all it would take to run from God is a couple of 'unanswered (instantly, on their demand) or delayed-answer prayers'. For a strong believer it would take the complete disintegration of the earth and the vaporizing of everything on it to happen before either the Rapture or the Second Coming before they would stop believing in what they KNOW is Truth. Now, perhaps you can tell me what it would take for a 'weak' and a 'strong' atheist to come to faith in Christ = and perhaps whether you believe yourself to be 'weak' or 'strong' in atheism.

@@wwlib5390 The point is that this is the question so often asked of atheists and not to theists on these kinds of shows. Yet when the question is turned on them, they act like it's an unfair question, or that they can't conceive of a reason why others have just as much faith in gods other than their own. It's about the profound lack of self-awareness on display here. And if there is a deity, well, they'd figure out a way to make me believe. Hasn't happened yet.
@wwlib5390
@wwlib5390 10 күн бұрын
@@AshaCrone First, no one can MAKE you, me or anyone else BELIEVE anything at all (you can fake belief and fool people but you can never fool God). I answered your question. Saying a deity would figure out a way to MAKE you believe - isn't going to happen, as I said above Even many people who SAW Jesus do miracles and heard Him teach wisdom way above the level of a mere 'carpenter's son' with their own ears and eyes, didn't believe - why are YOU any different? God tells you that only those who will SEEK HIM will FIND HIM. Only those who will, on their own accord because they MUST know - will draw near to Him that He will draw near to them. God already figured out the only Way and did EVERYTHING for you on the Cross - He offers you forgiveness and paid the penalty for your sin of rejection and rebellion in FULL so you don't have to AND so that the relationship (knowing Him) that was severed by your rejection can be restored by your faith and trust in Him (the relationship as He knew with Adam where they both walked and talked in the Garden is YOURS if you want it!). Have no sin? Sin doesn't exist? Then the Cross offers you nothing and Jesus won't force Himself into your life. Do you really WANT to know? John 3 16 is the ONLY way He made for you to obtain that knowledge, to KNOW His love and His promises. But, you don't have to follow His ways. At the Second Coming, every eye will behold Him - a day late and a dollar short for those who have remained in their unbelief. Today, if you hear the Word, take heed and draw near to Him. I wish you well.

The greatest and most heinous of God's cruelties is the infinite punishment of hell for the finite crime of non-belief. An all knowing God that created something would know exactly what it would take to convince his creation, so the sin is ultimately his. I've spoken with many atheists like you, and the issue is never a lack of evidence but a refusal to accept it. Even if convinced that God is good, loving, and just, many would still reject Him-not because of evidence, but because of what's in their hearts. You pick and choose which scientists and historians to believe based on your worldview, dismissing others as liars or conspiracy theorists. Yet, you're not there during the discoveries or studies-you follow others blindly, *by faith*, from behind your phone. There is a wealth of historical and archaeological evidence supporting the Bible: Sodom and Gomorrah, the Red Sea crossing, the Shroud of Turin, Noah's Ark, and more. The problem isn't evidence-it’s your unwillingness to accept it. You've been influenced by the education system and media, but you refuse to see what's plainly out in the open.

Further, I understand sapience to encompass processing and retention of information. If you have knowledge of something you have been and ever shall be affected by that thing. A god who can’t convince one specific skeptic is not omnipotent. So an omnipotent god must be able to convince everyone. That leads to further questions: why has this god not done this? Why would this god hide? Perhaps you should reconsider if such a god is even real. A god not existing is good reason for him not revealing itself.

So sad that even the nicest sounding Christian ends up diving head first into bigotry.

Odd how Christians judge humans at a higher standard than god.

Not hard considering gods track record! If Jesus can back to earth and claimed to be god he should be sent straight to The Hague!

If theists can come to some consensus on what exactly god is, which is what religion tries to do, then at least I can have some idea what it'd take to believe or not. But they can't and won't. So F it.

The incredulity that he shows that someone could believe that a god exists but not worship it is kind of weird when they believe that Forrest exists but don't worship him. :-)

Let me get this straight, our morals come from the Christian god, but why does this sense of morality he himself gave me tell me he is evil? Did he make a mistake or does morality not come from this fictional being at all?

Any punishment for not believing something which hasn't been demonstrated is evil. It doesnt matter what the punishment is.
