​@@kckasem3360 yeah, colored contacts can look really weird sometimes, like really really weird in certain lightings but wheb you see it you just cant tell what is wrong even though something looks off. I think it is the fact that your pupils dialate and constrict depending on your lighting, and your pupil size is constantly changing throughout the day adjusting for the light, but colored contacts are always the same size. So it just makes it look like something is off when in certain lighting. The same way you can tell a person on drugs "looks off" and is high by looking at their eyes. If pupils are super super tiny no matter what, then they are on pain killers/heroin, and if their pupils are big then they are on stimulants or alcohol. I also think real eyes have certain "glimmer" to them. Kind of like a fish scale, depending on the angle and direction of light the color kind of changes hues and has a type of "depth" to it if that makes sense. Contacts dont have that, it almost looks "painted on" or like plastic at times and jusy not natural. Also if you get the size of the iris wrong it can look very weird too. I think CGI is better in most situations than colored contacts, or a mixture of both.

Anya fits body better of book Yen but that is pretty much it. Games did her whole personality better, (also the face although they made her too perfect looking, when she is clearly not perfect). Both Netflix and CD Projekt Red had their vision but game Yen is just more accurate. They had to make her pretty so she won't be uglier than Triss.

I do find it interesting that people have taken it upon themselves to decide Yennefer is supposed to be the most beautiful person ever. This is from “The Last Wish” book: “Yennefer, although attractive in her own way, couldn’t pass as a great beauty”. As for me, I think this actress is beautiful and does a very good job at expressing the book version of Yennefer who is much more unreasonable, mysterious and capricious than the game version. Her acting capability and off screen passion for the role is something the fans should get behind rather than nitpick. People often forget that in a game you can make things pretty much as you like, but real life casting is much harder as you are limited both in the looks and talent pool. Diversity for diversity’s sake is stupid, but in this case the actress is a very good one and clearly not a diversity hire.

Pretty sure in the books shes really beautiful as all sorceress are. Everyone in the streets who happen upon her would agree to that. In The Last Wish, Geralt calls out discrepancies on her looks because due to him being a Witcher aswell as his enhanced senses because of his additional mutagens, he can see signs of how she used to look, and the changes of her facial features after becoming a sorceress, examples of her old looks being the humpback she used to have the unevenness of the bridge of her nose etc etc. He can literally see it, falls in love with her and her beauty anyways. Noone else who isnt a Witcher or who does not have the equivalent keen senses could though. So she is a great beauty in the eyes of everyone else in the world. Ciri is practically in awe when she sees Yennefer for the first time to the point where shes envious of her, and ashamed of her own body features in comparison to what she sees in Yennefer. Also the book covers show how Yennefer is described and seen, shes definitely stunning. Another thing, Anya's a great actress aswell as gorgeous but she looks nothing like her and the script makes the character act nothing like how she is in the books. Literally, not the same character in any sense other than their name. All in the books my guy.

The source material is by a Polish author utilizing Slavic myth. Ethnic diversity probably (and understandably) never crossed his mind. Trying to adapt his stories into live action with a diverse cast was, unfortunately and regrettably, a mistake. The reality is it had the misfortune of being adapted a generation too late. On the other hand, Anya Cholatra is fucking beautiful--worthy of the beauty Yennifer is supposed to be, but miscast considering the source material.

She´s pretty, not a Miss Universe gorgeous kind of girl but many don´t know the books describe her like that, pretty, certainly pretty enough to turn a lot of eyes when she´s around but nowhere a great beauty. And many got to know her from the games where the actress they used and the rendering really made her extremely beautiful. Netflix Triss on the other hand has nothing to do with the books or game, like they couldn´t or , more likely, wouldn´t find a cute readhead for the role

The show’s version of Jaskier has always seemed kind of bi tbh. Yes yes, he’s a womanizer in the books but IMO the “I’d sleep with anyone”-attitude goes well with the personality of both book and show Jaskier 🤷🏻‍♀️ the choice of Radovid was a bit odd though lol

Neither of them really got it right. In the Books the sorceresses are described as (paraphrasing here) - Almost beautiful- Because like Yen in the series, she was a "ugly" and then made beautiful. They all underwent something to that effect, and the idea is that if they are looked at too long, there is an uncanny valley aspect. I'm guessing its a kind of take on how plastic surgery is attractive, but also kind of not at the same time.

tbh i prefer the actress. She looks so beautiful and wears her facial features so well for a powerfull sorceress. Her outfits are a 10/10, shes not complete eyecandy like the game version yet still beautiful and powerful. So are the other actresses. The only mistake is the make up on ciris actress, its too obvious.

Anya is beautiful indeed... but in the books Yen has a cold, freezing type of beauty, commending fear and respect... Anya is more of the sympathetic kind of beauty, while in the games we trully feel that mosterious, dark, freezing cold nature of the Book's Yenner a lot more

I’d agree with Eva Green or Catherine Zeta Jones when she was young. This actress might not be bad looking, but the vibe and temperament is just completely off. She also lacks elegance and aura. She’s also too young, feels more like Ciri’s sister… I’d think anyone into the books or the games would instantly find her NOT Yennifer.
