I bought my Great Pyranees 6 months before Covid hit and although I had been taking her out to meet everyone , before Covid, she was not socialized properly and only likes her family. I can't seem to fix it🥲 She's amazing but makes me sad that I can't let anyone else around her. I sell eggs and have people daily at my house. It's very stressful to her. Everyone wants to pet the beautiful fluffy grouch🤣

This comment is amazing! Made me laugh so hard!!! That is definitely a reality with Pyrenees. They are super protective and imprinted on your family. I struggle with the same thing and the only thing that helps my dogs is seeing other people and animals in settings when they can observe outside of their house (a park, lake, or grocery store parking lot in the car). I find letting them see that normal activity involves strangers walking past one another with no interaction and same with other dogs, really helps. Thanks for sharing your story is great

I just want to say I was happy with the things u did say as I’ve had 8 pyrs and 1 pyr/Anatolian over the last 33 yrs. I am not impressed with the top u chose to wear. I found it very offensive when u turn to the side. JMO

I have a 5 year old who looks exactly like her his name is Fletcher. He was a rescue I had him DNA'd we knew he was part German Shepherd and wanted to know the other. He is exactly as you described and the smartest dog I ever was blessed to know. Never really did (Formal Training) he has always just made an effort to figure out what everyone is saying (even if you're not talking to him) best friend I ever had better behaved than most children...💞💘

I have two shepnees from the same litter. My boy looks like your dog and my girl looks more like a German shepherd. They're awesome dogs and I wouldn't hesitate to have this breed. They do shed a lot and I've found brushing them every day helps, which they love. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, for sharing the information. Many pets didn't receive the socialization they should of during the pandemic. We adopted a cat during that time, and was scared of everything, we worked with her, now she doesn't even run during fireworks and is friendly with people it took work

Very much so agree with you. It takes a lot of intentional work to get them exposed to everything they might see and be scared of. I'm glad you were able to work through that with your cat 😊

that's an interesting mix; so, they they take/remove the independent nature of the LGD and replace it with the common, less independent or simply (human input-)dependent, "shepherd" drive

Yeah I would say so! I love both the traits for their own reasons but I must say managing a dog who doesn't believe in rules beside their own is hard in modern day society with fences and trespassing rules. My neighbor put up a no trespassing sign when my mom's GP got in her yard and I wish I could have written on it, " if only dogs could read" lol

0:18 an Anatolian Shepherd and Great Pyranees is going to produce an LGD like the parent breeds. It's not going to be like a herding dog mixed to an LGD

Yes I have a maremma and anatolion mix he does shed a lot and you are right they follow you everywhere he weights about 120 pounds but very gentle
