I tried to tell you about Valerion lol. I have been a beta tester since October and I can tell you it's the real deal in a dedicated theater room. Very high end tone mapping, very bright, great dynamic dimming. It is an amazing projector and and even more amazing value.

You know, I don’t really know how I feel about the micro LED TVs. I understand the argument that they will eventually come down in price however, like you mentioned before in a dedicated theater room, they will never be an equivalent to a projector with a transparent screen. However, at the same time, I would imagine that the processing power of AV would eventually catch up because all you would need is four point source speakers located north, south, east and west of the screen. In saying that I still feel there will always be a market for projectors for real movie enthusiast whereas the micro LED consumers will be more geared towards sports and run-of-the-mill television shows.

I agree I don’t see projectors going anywhere anytime soon. But you can never say never with technology.

I think this highlights why MWAVE was such a unique experience. A home theater specific show, organized by home theater enthusiasts, where literally every booth had exactly what we were all there to see. Not to mention the opportunity to see multiple dedicated theater rooms. MWAVE was the absolute BEST!!

It was a great show. I am grateful for the three years I had with it but am super pumped with our plans for Obsessed Home Theater. Long-term goals are to have smaller quarterly or even monthly get-togethers at Obsessed Home Theater headquarters in Florida. Doing a massive show requires six months of planning. That’s just simply not sustainable for me.

Respectfully, you forget, the world is MUCH bigger than the US. As someone that's worked in T.Comm over 25 years (internationally), and lot of the brands you may see at CES have a strong presence in other parts of the world.....mainly because some countries don't have as much disposable income as we do in the US so they need products that fit in their budget and lifestyle. Whenever I come come to the US from working it makes me rethink what we have here v/s other places. One example is, in Japan, you can actually rent a phone power bank ANYWHERE , attach it to your phone, and return it to the closest return station. It's quite interesting and different how others live.

I much preferred this style of trade show coverage over CEDIA. Asking real questions, forming real opinions vs. sponsored hype coverage.
@Youthman
@Youthman 14 күн бұрын
I appreciate the feedback. Unless a channel has hundreds of thousands of views per video, sponsored content is necessary to pay the bills. This trip probably cost me $3,000 out of pocket. If I had even 3% of my audience become a patron, even at the lowest tier of two dollars a month, I would have zero need to make sponsored content.

I appreciate projectors and have used them always in my theater but it's looking more and more like like my next projector will be a tv. The way movies are made now with HDR I just can't see a new projector in my future. I'll just keep my old ones and my motorized screen. That way I can do both. Crazy times with tvs

I just made a comment a few days ago about how projectors were the future because they were probably going to become more convenient than a 100-150 inch TV but I wasn't expecting transparent TV's that have depth hologram like depth to them to be available anytime soon

It's the LCR challenge, as always. How do you get that uniform, horizontal central LCR placement? Particularly on screens so large that you have to move those speakers even further off their prime vertical centre. Can't lie though. Love the HDR and deep blacks

@@Youthmanfrom the few times I've been to CES it looks like everything is scaled towards vendors now and low budget marketing of cheap products. Not a lot of big hitters this year. But it's cool to see some of the new display tech that's coming to the consumer market. Being in the professional production industry for a long time and seeing how LED walls have gotten tighter and tighter pixel groupings, it's really awesome to see the micro LED hitting the market. It's the next best thing to OLED and having the brightness levels that HDR needs. Great coverage of your dinner experience! 😍

Certainly specs. on paper leaves the three PJ Bigboys in the rearview mirror!! I think these Bigboys of PJ market will have to do lots of soul searching!

Since you're a dealer now many of those unfamiliar companies are manufacturers of things that can carry the obsessed home theater label. They may have a product in an area of home theater that isn't obvious. Those big battery systems that can power a home theater with clean interrupted power. A lot of home automation products etc. Think outside the box and maybe you'll find another avenue for obsessed home theater.

That last time I went to CES was almost 10 years ago. Even then, I felt like there were only 3 thing: TVs, headphones, and iPhone accessories. 20 years ago, it was awesome- it was TVs, home audio, dozens of good video projector demos - Joe Kane would sit in the Samsung booth and talk about color reproduction on projectors all day. There were all the home automation companies, remote controls, tons of home theater stuff. (basically all of the Cedia type stuff) There was all the computer stuff from Apple and Microsoft. And of course a million little gadgets on display that vendors hope and pray someone will want to sell. I'm glad you got a good meal :)

Seeing Caleb must have been pretty cool! You're my go to guy for audio advice and I will probably be choosing my next tv based off of Caleb's reviews. The Sony Bravia 7 and X90L are really checking all my boxes. A little side note on the Valerian......I think, like in my case and many other people, as you mentioned....I would need to place it on the wall at back of my space on a shelf about 6.5/7 feet off the ground above my couch and something like that is "nice and pretty" so it would look better than a giant black box. My screen would only be 13ish feet from the lens so I wouldn't need something as powerful as a JVC or something similar. I'm with you on the McLaren!! I'd even choose it over the Bugatti. The red car you looked at that you didn't know the emblem off was a Koenigsegg.....VERY VERY VERY fast car. A very few hand built in Sweden per year.

You’ll never see JTR at CES or CEDIA. Not a good enough return on investment for them. The reason they came to MWAVE the last three years that I was involved with it was we made it super affordable. To do and enclosed booth at CEDIA or CES would likely run over $50,000 just for the booth alone and only get a few thousand visitors over the course of three days. On KZbin, we can generate tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of visitors virtually
