He’s EXTREMELY RIGHT! I became a born again Christian 2 months ago and got wiped clean by The Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit and complete 360 in my life and I never had a bible AND nobody condemned me saying I need Jesus or should be a Christian. I just simply one night called out to Jesus Christ asking for the Truth and it was given to me. The One True God is Everything and Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. And definitely nobody goes to the Father but through him. Knock and Jesus will answer. He answered to me who was a very sinful person before all this. Amen!

However, it sounds like he went totally reformed? I attended a mildly charismatic church with my husband but decided not to become a member because their declaration that evidence of baptism of the HS is by speaking in tongues which the Bible doesn't say that. Also I am uncomfortable with women pastors. But a Baptist pastor is a church I attended recently preached cessationism. I can't buy that either, nor reformed theology.

Yes, praise God his eyes opened to the deceptions and errors of the hypercharismatic movement he was involved in. Humbling himself and went to study the bible. However, from what I've listened from him, he seems to hold to the calvinist doctrine which I beleive is not biblical. Lets remember so, that God still does mighty work even in the midst of humans errors. Talking about the Holy Spirit, we know that once born again, He indwell in us, guiding us, convicting us, conforting us and leading us in Spirit and in Truth🙏 So, listen to teachings but be a good bereans and check everything you hear against the Word of God in its context. "Acts 17:11 NKJV [11] These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so." God bless you

During my slow journey back home to God, while laying in bed, back in December of 2022, I prayed for the Lord to please help me tear down whatever walls I have built within my life that kept me separated from him. At the moment I spoke those words, intense light flowed through my eyes & a fierce wind entered through my feet consuming me fully to the point of slightly elevating my whole body off the bed. Fear entered my mind & then I audibly heard in a booming voice “Fear not for I AM the Holy Spirit, know that IAM! I was literally paralyzed for quite awhile. I appreciate Melissa's question, before we had a bible: Romans 2:12-16 I think it's answered here. 12 For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. 14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.

Without having yet watched the complete video, this thought kind of popped into my mind. When the Apostles asked Jesus to teach them to pray, Jesus responded “ Our Father who art in Heaven ….” This , it seems to me, is probably the chief reason we do not think about praying to the Holy Spirit. Also , Jesus told the Apostles that if they asked God for anything in Jesus’s own name …… The Holy Spirit works differently. It is through the work of the Holy Spirit that we have been brought to faith without our asking . Such an interesting topic. My mind is filled with thoughts about the Holy Spirit. Cannot imagine my life without the Holy Spirit .

Wow - such a great commentary from Costa Hinn! There's so much derision from the reformed and charismatic camps unable to come to terms with the work of the Spirit and how He's visibly working His power through believers. Such a refreshing way to see that believers can physically respond by raising their hands in worship and maybe crying to sincerely display thanks and gratitude. The "FROZEN CHOSEN" is a choice as there's nothing wrong with being reserved. But when the Spirit moves in that sound, Biblical way, it's obvious.

Maybe some people are afraid to pray to and speak to the Holy Spirit for two reasons: 1) Jesus and God in their Heavenly Realm or wherever They choose to be is one thing. Saying, "there's another Spirit in here with me...all the time" is another. To follow, 2) maybe some people think if you directly acknowledge the Holy Spirit, He will convict you day and night! I was raised Baptist. I don't remember this issue being addressed. I find it awkward to talk to the Holy Spirit but I know He's real and He's here with me always. I want to get over that awkwardness. Never bothered too much about 'charismatic' practice in my early years of my Chrisitan life ( 1970s ) till I 'sought' (through mystical means ) 'tongues experience' sincerely believing this was a means by with I could draw closer to GOD and have victory over life's struggles. This was after 3 years of fellowshipping in a more reformed minded group . Bottomline: this 'experience' caused me to doubt my salvation and prior discernment. Subsequent teachings by Lordship ( John Macarthur ) just deepened my depression and confusion.

God made us for relationship with him. Sin and our disobedience pushed us apart. Jesus died and tore that vail between us if we accept it! Jesus said we must be born again. Born again is repentance from sin, turning away from sin. Be baptized in water for the remition of sin. We die to ourselves and rise to Christ, washing us clean and being made a new creation! Then we get baptized with Holy Spirit (yes, evidence of this can be speaking in tongues. Also the fruit of a changed life.) Once you are born again, praise God we are now able to be in relationship with God!!! We can't be in his presence and not be changed! Live in relationship with Our Heavenly Father and in obedience to him as you look more like him as you go! I hope that makes sense and wherever you are at in this process, keep seeking him! Religious people talking and you can feel every word resonates as true. This is so rare. I totally understand/accept the concept of praying towards Jesus and Holy Spirit. Those are not saints, there's no controversy there. It's just that I have met God the Father face to face (literally, like in the story of the burning bush). This experience overrides everything. God actively changes reality. You will not really understand this unless you share the same experience. And so I will always prefer praying to God the Father in the name of Jesus. But that's just me, and I'm an infinitesimally rare exception. I would imagine if someone has met Jesus directly, they would prolly feel especially strong connection when praying to Him.

Jesus gives us a clear example of how to pray to God. Paul teaches us how to pray to Jesus. Nowhere can I recall instruction on how to pray to the Holy Spirit. When, where in a life, and how often to we pray to the Holy Spirit? Do I use an oven timer with a bell to assure me I'm giving HS equal time? Do we divide our time like a pie? So, if I pray constantly and not include the HS by name am I negating the other prayers? This is making me appreciate the Muslim faith more than before. Focus, instead on defining the HS and how it functions.

I have been learning (and teaching) that we can pray and ask the Holy Spirit directly for things. 1 Corinthians 12 talks the Holy Spirt giving us the "His gifts" according to how He sees fit, to whom He sees fit and to what level/degree of effectiveness He sees fit all for the honor and glory of Christ and to help bring others to Him. Just like Nehemiah said that quick short prayer when the king asked him what needed we can ask the Holy Spirit (sometimes very quickly) for help/guidance/use of those gifts when talking to people, for example, "Holy Spirit please help me, give me wisdom, the knowledge to help this person and the faith to see it through". We can also ask the Holy Spirit for that healing touch when needed whether that be the miraculous/instant healing, how to be that shoulder to cry on during hard times or to guide someone through the process of healing. I think asking the Holy Spirit for those things directly to with the attitude of for the edification of other believers or to help bring the unsaved to Him is the proper way of doing those kind of things.
@ricksonora6656 Жыл бұрын
You’re on the right track. You may have missed something in 1 Corinthians 12. The chapter, as a whole, describes a hierarchy and division of labor between the Father, Son, and Spirit. The Spirit doesn’t just distribute gifts on a whim or by request. He endows gifts in accordance with the Father’s unique plan for each of His children. To seek gifts outside God’s plan is not wrong, but it is a bit like a mechanic looking for a job as an electrician. And if you obsess or demand an additional gift, or imitate a gift, it can become rebellion against God. Another common trap is failing to distinguish between one-off miracles and spiritual gifts. God answers prayers, and sometimes the answer is “Yes!” But spiritual gifts are abilities. It’s like the difference between me bowling a strike, when my average score is 80, versus a professional bowler who consistently bowls 300.

@@ricksonora6656I get that and perhaps I should have been a little more clear. I understand that the gifts are distributed by the Holy Spirit and for some people they are more "permanent" or longer lasting in some areas if that makes sense. I think we can ask the Holy Spirit for that "infusion" of a gift or something similar to it when we are witnessing to someone unexpectedly to help us know what to do and say. I have experienced something like that myself. It probably sounded like I was saying we can just get them turned on and off at will. That was not my intent but I can see where it came across that way. Sometimes we may need that "strike" (or a few of them) when its not normal for us in the game we are currently in (the person we are witnessing to at the time). I also understand that we may only be planting seeds at the time and real harvest comes later. Sorry for the confusion there. I will keep in mind to be a little more carful in how I word things in the future

Let me tell you something straight. If the holy Spirit is on you , you're becoming the SON OF MAN , the Messiah, just as Jesus Christ was. Period. There is no other way around it.

@@RAY.POLARIS What a coincidence! In the garden, the serpent presented nearly the same temptation as you!

@@ricksonora6656 I'm not representing any temptation, in disguise 🥸 as a serpent 🐍 trying to lead people astray. The bible says when the holy Spirit comes you're literally becoming the Messiah.

The church needs to learn to be united as they were in the upper room..

The main thing to keep in mind about the Holy Spirit is that there are a LOT of people identifying as Christians walking around today who think the Holy Spirit dwells inside of them, and in fact it is an entirely DIFFERENT spirit that has fooled them and is manipulating them. Christ said, "By their fruits shall you know them". Does the "Christian" care and advocate for the poor, the sick, and the marginalized on a regular basis? Do they truly love their neighbor as themselves? OR do they preach hate and division, do they judge their neighbor (which is Christ's job), and do they admire and support ungodly, greedy, and malicious people in power or who seek power?

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
