For a chain, i have found them somewhat inconsistent in quality from location to location. In the restaurant trade, there are some axioms for insiders: 1. Don't order steak at a seafood restaurant. ...conversely... 2. Don't order seafood at a steak restaurant. 3. If you want chicken...seriously? What are you doing at a steak restaurant? 4. Plan on tipping well for good service. 5. Don't hit on the waitstaff-trust me they have heard it all before. 6. Don't go out on Saturday night and expect perfect food or service. Kitchens are nuts on weekends. Go on Tuesday or Thursday for the best. And finally, stay home on New Years Eve-there's a passel of amateur drinkers on the road!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a well-done steak. I love ribeyes and that's how I cook it at home - well-done and juicy. But at restaurants I've learned to order steaks and burgers medium-well because the chef/cook can't seem to tell the difference between well-done and over-done.

There is everything wrong with a well done steak. Your killing all the flavor and nutrition in the steak. Who wants to chew on leather? Yes, I used to be a well done guy by I slowly transitioned by going back a temperature, won’t go past medium now. Medium rare is where you get the flavor of the steak at its maximum peak

We were on vacation there recently from the UK, and the first time in the Longhorn steakhouse San Antonio. The rib-eye was absolutely first class, and rare as requested; my wife had the T-bone which too was delicious. We managed to finish the platefull,....just, and would heartily recommend this restaurant.

The Longhorn stuffed mushrooms are scrumptious and I like the rice pilaf , they just don’t give you enough. I get the brussel sprouts, but they are just ok, PF Changs are better. My wife ordered the ribs and they were quite tasty. Their strawberry salad is also quite tasty. Of course the only steak I eat is the Outlaw Ribeye medium rare, yummy!!

I worked at a steakhouse, and we graded our steaks. The worst steaks were used for well done, second worst for Med-well, and so on. We only sold USDA Prime beef, cut and aged in-house. So all out steaks looked good, some just looked better than others.

Almost everything said was wrong; The chicken tenders and the salmon are incredibly good, so is the rice pilaf, ribs and everything else. Plus you don't need someone to tell you Mac and cheese or bacon/blue cheese on a salad has high fat. We know, and if we're on a diet we won't order it.

Order how you like! I line cooked for 10 years, included at Longhorn. It’s not a big deal, as long as you don’t mind waiting a little extra time for us to get it right. I’ve always said a well done is the hardest steak to screw up, just don’t burn it.

I have had Longhorns in many different locations - Fort Lauderdale, FL, Independence, MO, Round Rock, TX, and Tulsa OK. I have never once had a meal I did not like. Never once has my wife, who likes her steaks well done, had to return a steak because it wasn't prepared properly. Of the 4 locations we have eaten at, the last 3 have been visited by us several times. Whenever I want a good steak - it's Longhorn's.

They just opened up a Longhorn's a couple of months ago in the next town over from me. I've already been twice and had takeout once. Food and service was consistent over these three visits. The steaks are good for a large chain. I had the broccoli and the asparagus, which are always good just about anywhere. And the krispy Brussels sprouts are quite delicious. I'd probably get those every time.
