A most watch video for sure. Thank you for making it. I found a list of electricians near my location. Using the Tesla website, and all of those are certified by Tesla. I have the wall charger sitting there looking pretty. (No Tesla in my garage anytime soon until August)

Thank u for another informative video. long question and one you may not know so my apologies in advance ....I have a MXP 5 seater on order before the changes to seating configuration but no VIN at this point. As the Plaid is now only available in a 6 seater will Tesla honour my order ( 5 months) by offering me the 6 seater or will they cancel my order altogether meaning I need to start again from scratch ie day one again !!? Keep up the great work
@teslaownersperspective19682 жыл бұрын
Thats a great question and someone else mentioned that on the channel. I think they stated that Tesla did honor but I'm also not 100% certain. I wish could give you a better answer than that. Sorry

Hi it’s Ken great video. Why didn’t your electrician wire direct to the charger circumventing the purchase of the NEMA PLUG? I’m assuming you purchased the charger for $500. Thanks Ken
@teslaownersperspective19682 жыл бұрын
Thats a question thats above my pay grade. I don't know. I asked if the electrician if he could put in the 220 outlet for my Tesla and thats what he did. Maybe if Id asked him what you just stated he would've? Also I went by what I was reading on the blogs before receiving my Model Y. I'll have to look into that. Thank you!
@kmosier8052 жыл бұрын
I’ll send you a picture when it’s light out and not storming. Directly wiring the 220 line through the breaker to the charger saves you the addition cost for the outlet and adapter. We took a single PVC fence post and drilled the same holder that you have into it. Ken

He does not have the $500 wall charger. He just uses the charging cable that comes with the car and purchased the adapter to connect that cable to the NEMA 50 amp 240 volt plug he had installed.

In fact, home charging your Model X and Model Y with the Tesla Wall Connector follows the same process as the Tesla Mobile Connector, but with higher charging performance and shorter charging times.
@teslaownersperspective19682 жыл бұрын
Ive always charged primarily from home. Ive been to the super chargers a few times. I love parking the car in the garage and just plugging in. Always charged to 80% and ready to go.

Just got my MXP 9/22. They stopped providing the charge cable and key fobs. Only received the key cards and adapter that goes with the non-Tesla chargers. I did buy the mobile connector and it came with both the nema 1450 and 515 adapters.

@Tesla Owner's Perspective What if you can use a level 2 or level 3 charger for daily charging where I shop and do daily errands in my town? What level is a home charger? I have tons of superchargers and level 2 and level 3 chargers with in a 1/2 mile to 2 miles of where I live. I live in a building and no they will not install a charger..
@teslaownersperspective19682 жыл бұрын
Hi Happy Hippo. I dont think that Tesla recommends using level 2 or 3 as your primary charging point. I think it either damages or reduces the range of your batteries sooner than later. The home isn't as powerful as the level 2 or 3 charger. The home charger can be a regular 110 outlet or a higher 220. The 110 charges much slower than the 220. I would recommend trying to find a different charging solution other than depending on the level 2 or 3. Good luck and let me know if you're able to charge another way.
@happyhippo17102 жыл бұрын
I read that the superchargers are the ones that degrade and to use level 2 or 1 fir daily use and that regular outlets are level one and two. Not everyone who owns a tesla owns a garage.
@teslaownersperspective19682 жыл бұрын
@@happyhippo1710 Hi Happy. I misunderstood your previous comment. When you mentioned level 1 and level 2 charging I thought that you were referring to the Tesla Super Charging levels. If level 1 is a 110 outlet and 220 is a level 2 charger then you can use either one. The major difference from the 2 levels is that the 110 gives about 4 miles of range per hour while the 220 gives about 32 miles of range per hour of charging. I hope this reply helps. If you have any other questions I'll continue to try to answer. 😀

Hi, thank you for your videos. We live in Buffalo and also ordered a Tesla and waiting for it. Can I know why you got your car delivered home rather than going to NYC? The Tesla team was insisting me to go over and deliver it rather than getting it delivered to Buffalo. What do you recommend?
@teslaownersperspective19682 жыл бұрын
Hello. You're not too far from me. Tesla originally wanted me to pick up the X on Mt. Kisco NY. Its a 5 hour drive from my house. I decided instead of driving to pick it up myself I paid for the delivery service which was about $750. Thats a long drive but if you're for up for it it'll give you time to understand the car before you get home? NYC is a good distance away. The delivery was painless and both Tesla's dropped off right in my driveway. Good luck wirth you choose but Id recommend the delivery service.

Here's an idea for your next video. How to keep yourself from slapping ( that what people are doing these days) Elon when you have been waiting for 8 months for your tesla MX and 24hrs before delivery they call you to tell you that your VIN has been unassigned due to the fact that the car did not meet quality metrics and so now you have to wait till JULY. Fricking July!!! I know it a long title but can you make that video????

If a long winter blackout occurs in a land of electric cars most of the population will perish in the freezing cold. The gas powered car that would provide cabin heat for many days will not be there. The electric car could only supply heat for a short time and would quickly discharge its battery making a trip to a shelter impossible.
