Hey Lovelies,
Today is a different video for me. I had an experience with Sephora where I found out a change they've made to their policy and I wanted to share some thoughts!
Also, I have new makeup - a gorgeous limited edition fenty product to show you and the makeup bag and toiletry bag I'll be taking on my overseas trip.

First up, I'm sorry that you had that happen to you. Secondly, you *are correct* in your understanding. Under Australian Consumer Law, a seller's Terms and Conditions *cannot* limit consumers' rights - including the right to buy goods that are fit for purpose. Those new Sephora Australia terms were published on 8th May 2024, according to their own site. Regardless, you can tell them you are asserting your consumer rights and they either need to refund or replace etc. the item for you.

Ah, that's really interesting! I'm in the process of dealing with customer service right now but it really goes against my nature to make a fuss haha. And I know it's not the most expensive product in the world, it's just the principle really! Thankyou for that intel lovely, I appreciate it x

Hi there beautiful lady! thankyou so much for sharing that information, good to know, however as someone has already commented, we, in Australia do have consumer rights even though companies try and say we don't so good luck if you were to push it further. You were very gracious in your handling of this complaint on camera. Good luck with all your endeavours in the future! An Aussie fan!

Oh no! What a frustrating experience. I ran over to the Sephora website to see the return policy. It looks like, at least in my country, we can still return for a full refund. I would be so upset if that changed without notice. At least the eyeliner you purchased is beautiful! I hope you get the commercial. 🤞🏻

My pleasure, I figure I wouldn't be the only one who wasn't aware they'd changed their policy. Yeah, I'd definitely recommend only buying things you 100% already know will work as advertised! x

What about those of us who are no-where near a Sephora store and have to order online? Everything I require is purchased online. I can't test any product at all. If no-one stands up to these bullies who are breaking the law in Australia, it will only be harder to return faulty products and this will affect everyone. No matter how we feel about returning products, they need to be sent back to prevent endless others from the same fate. I wouldn't want that on my shoulders to not do anything, woukd you?💖

Thanks for sharing that info. It's good to get a warning about any product that doesn't live up to what's been advertised. I feel sephora should have definitely refunded you & sent the product back to Fenty. So disappointing & waste of your hard earned money. Consumers in the USA can take their products (makeup) back for refunds, even if it's opened & not suitable , lucky things. ❤❤

Ps I hope you get the commercial too, fingers crossed. I've had issues with eye cleansers & a makeup (I have sensitive eyes). I've tried a few & they sting like crazy , so ive contacted the manufacturer, product got sent back but no refund or credit given, I give up lol. I've now found a eye /face cleanser which I love , Evoluderm Rinse Off Cleansing Oil (this doesn't sting if it gets in my eyes) then 2nd cleanse with Evoluderm Eye Makeup Remover both $5.99 chemist warehouse ❤❤

@@bronk2078 I know how you feel with sensitive eyes too! I'm a shocker. Chemist warehouse has some great stuff. I go in there to buy one thing and come out later with a full bag of stuff and a hundred bucks less usually! haha. Those are great prices though, I'm so happy you found something that works x

I have no idea why Australians are being punished with this policy when it seems no other countries are... it's definitely a recent and shonky development. All I wanted was a store credit, I wasn't even asking for a refund. Crazy! xx

Kris, you have the right to a refund under Australian Law. A product 'needs to be fit for the purpose for which it is intended for', clearly this is not. You cannot be forced to keep a faulty product! You should be calling Consumer Affairs in SA. If you fail to speak up, it will then make it harder for everyone else to return faulty items. Did you speak to the manager of the store or just a sales assistant? No-one enjoys having to return things but sometimes there is a need to. If no-one speaaks up, Sephora get away with doing this to countless others. Either call the store or visit, but speak to the manager! If you get no satisfaction, contact Consumer Affairs in your State straightaway. They cannot be allowed to break our laws! 🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

We've been emailing back and forth and I've been passed from one staff member to another. Of course I've been very polite the whole time. The whole thing seems ridiculous over a product they could have just written off as a tester, but yeah, it does feel like a principle thing now. Especially for those who live remotely! x

Yeah, I went instore initially and was told the policy had changed and I couldn't return the item, so when I got home I sent a polite email explaining that I thought it was unfair and have been dealing with online customer service since then... 🙄x
