Two bedroom two bath, one of which is an en suite...for £267,000. That is what I paid for my flat with same layout in Kensington overlooking the Kensington High Street station. In 1982. I would bet that the £135,000 property in Marble Arch has a very short lease. This makes it impossible to get a mortgage for, and then the price to renew the lease is going to be several hundreds of thousands, bringing it in line with similar properties in the area with full leases.

Thanks for another great video! Mews houses are often some of my favorites, especially when they're well done. People seem to get very clever utilizing the available space, and it's great that some of them have retained the garage for off-street parking. But, yeah, they can be super pricey. Can you explain how the annual fees work at the flats, what's a leasehold? What happens to your investment when the building your flat is in comes to the end of it's usable life?
@loveandlondon3 жыл бұрын
So im not super knowledgeable in this but you basically have to pay to renew the lease and that gets tricky for some. And people can't get mortgages for properties with less than 75 years left on the lease or something like that so then it's harder to sell your property. I'm sure someone else can pipe in though with better knowledge than me.
