Yes I learned this the very very hard way with Barletta and dealership that both did NO QC at all! I still cannot believe how many issues I have had and still worrying more will come..... new expensive boat and WOW. Big question I wish I would have asked them............ what happens if you get a lemon of a boat and numerous issues just keep happening??? Can I get my full money back? Can I get a new boat made and QC get videos so I can see what totally is done to it BEFORE I write a check for it??? Valuable lessons I learning now the hard and expensive way and boats are built in this country............ Your video is 100% of exactly what happened to me BTW.

What you describe can be translated to any boat, vehicle, trailer, etc.... you might buy ........ Based on what you said there, seems to me this is a process full of paranoia, fear and uncertainty ...........and it doesn't need to be - just be diligent, and with anything you buy, expect a few issues to arise - and if you buy from a reputable dealer, they will take care of you.

One concern Im having is I'll be towing with a crew cab long box dually with a slide in camper in the bed, So I'll have to use 48" hitch extension to clear the camper. Looking at 20-22 ft pontoon is going to put me close to 60ft going down the road truck and boat..

There are limits regarding how many miles/hours a new vehicle can be operated and still to be considered new. What you describe would legally make the boat a used boat. Not know where or how those hours for the break-in period were accumulated, would you buy a legally used boat at new boat prices?

I watched this video and the thought was always in my mind...all you say here applies to ANYTHING you buy. I've had problems with new cars....new appliances....new anything. One should check as much as possible when purchasing anything new that it works as suppose to as much as they can. This could have been more positive in just noting things to check and how to check for them versus making a scare video.

Great video, really good advice. How come so many ponton manufacturers have speed measured in MPH when we measure speed on the water in knots and distance in Nautical Miles?
@steveharmon90003 жыл бұрын
Same as in aviation. It's a marketing gimmick. 69 mph sounds better than 60 knots.

The average weekend boater doesn't know or care about knots or nautical miles.
@magnusb6311 Жыл бұрын
@@nealblue6413 I am not sure about that. Many boaters wants to be safe and follow rules. Since most speed limits (as should) is mentioned in knots and not mph, it would be more practical. Sometimes it just says no wake zone, but the majority of actual speed limits in America and other countries are in knots, that is the way to go.

You're so wrong on so many things on here. Way to spread fear and concern for items not needed. Yes shit happens for sure. Some things spot on as far as how they're made etc. But the whole dealer puts inexperienced fork driver on unloading boats , a dealer will not inspect or test and boat and just shove it out. Many things are required to check beforehand and before they can even go out!!
@sloppydawgsdcl49293 жыл бұрын
@@BoatBuyersSecretWeapon I get it and yes I do work for one. My thing is people already lump us in with car salesman and that can't be furthest from the truth! I've been around the car world for years and have very close friends who still are. Boats and boat sales are so iffy with folks one little thing and people will flip and leave for good and tell everyone. New boats have to be sold within territories to maintain good customer service and to ensure proper warranty coverage. If you are around the boat industry you will know most places won't sell out of terrirtory the ones who do lose that brand very quickly or that salesman is fired very quickly as they are charged a fee. So that being said my new* boats stay in my area therefore I can not afford to have a bad reputation. The video just seems to play on fear a little bit the marina or salesman with a boat is never out to just say F it and give you a crap boat hoping you leave and never comeback. Its always important to doublecheck for sure 100% but no dealer is trying to hide something
