Very brave of you to share this story. That must have been terrifying. I am actually being trained in psychedelic assisted therapy (officially, not underground) and iboga is hardcore. It sounds like it was not the right choice of medicine and that the therapists did not manage the situation well.

If a molecule makes you suffer nightmares for 30 hours but then gives you 6 months of reduced anxiety and fixes your sleep then in my book that is a great tradeoff
@h.a.s.42

@@astroNexx I get your point but I personally would get MDMA for his type of anxiety - it is just a symptom anyway and given he alluded to some family trauma stuff I would be looking at complex PTSD and for that reason I would have gone with MDMA, perhaps ketamine or LSD. For a person suffering from anxiety, a paranoid psychosis (it did not sound like a nightmare) can be pretty traumatising. He seems to be coping well and like he Integrated it somehow but I personally think another trauma on top of existing problems is difficult. My two cents.

Wow, a very vulnerable, honest and personal account to listen to, not sugar coated at all. Pity about the set and setting and shame Tuur got to act out his psychological pathologies so much but sounded as if he came through that and got massive benefit. Iboga only for the most brave souls, I know three days sitting with that medicine not uncommon, exhausting. A friend of mine did it and said he was stuck on a slave rowing boat for six hours, the Iboga spirit would not let him off until he learnt the lesson, a task master of a teacher. Ayahuasca is bad enough, can be six hours of hell that feels like it never ends but I can attest to the positive outcomes and even though in the middle of it at the time I swear I will never drink it again, I am always on my knees in gratitude the next day at how miraculous it is, these teacher plants are so clever, thank god for them.

many times over the last 20 years I've had family members and friends say something like "look at all the terrible things happening today, oh my god, what's wrong with the world?!" I would always say "are you sure this is real... how do you know this isnt all just the LSD hallucination of some guy rolling around on the basement floor in a pile of his own vomit?" theyd look at me like I was crazy. I could never understand why. but now BTC is changing that fiat hallucination into a truly WONDERFUL trip. It's kind of like how it only takes my 10 minutes to walk to the bar but it takes at least 45 minutes to get back.... The difference is Staggering I love you guys. Two slick ass pimps. Tuur you're also a beast, keep killin it homie

Wow, thanks for recounting that experience. It's wild how archetypal the alien figure is with psychedelic experiences. I've had several experiences with mushrooms. The vibe was definitely different for the most part, although similar with the feeling that the drug acts as a flare basically putting a spotlight on you, isolating you for the aliens. I always got the feeling that they were peering in on me through some inter-dimensional veil...

I wish there was more discussion on the problematic aspects of the retreat center. Was it simply the fact that there was anxiety in the air over their financial position? I am currently training to be a facilitator in this space and I would be really curious to hear more about this. It does not sound like they were abjectly negligent, and they seemed to handle the fallout well, at least in terms of the CEO personally taking responsibility in keeping an eye in Tuur, but I think this aspect of the story could have been more thoroughly explored, and is an important piece to understand for people curious about both facilitating and participating in these treatments.

You basically didnt take enough. You couldnt breakthrough and were stuck in the "game" dimension, which can become a nightmare as its basically just psychosis. "A second sign of Third Bardo existence are experiences of panic, torture and persecution. They are distinguished from the wrathful visions fo the Second Bardo in that they definitely seem to involve the person's own "skin− encapsulated ego." Mind−controlling manipulative figures and demons of hideous aspects may be hallucinated. The form that these torturing demons take will depend on the person's cultural background. Where Tibetans saw demons and beasts of prey, a Westerner may see impersonal machinery grinding, or depersonalizing and controlling devices of different futuristic varieties. Visions of world destruction, dying in space−fiction modes, and hallucinations of being engulfed by destructive powers will likewise come; and sounds of the mind−controlling apparatus, of the "combine's fog machinery," of the gears which move the scenery of the puppet show, of angry overflowing seas, and of the roaring fire and of fierce winds springing up, and of mocking laughter."

Everyone escapes reality every day, multiple times per day, it's called human cognition. Our brains unconsciously bend our perception of reality to meet our desires or expectations. And they fill in gaps using our past experiences. This has been a known fact in neuroscience for a very long time.

Gox - 2010, early start... coinbase/bistamp 2011/2012 only, then 2013-2014 was fun, 2016 segwit huh... wow - answer about Quantum Computer exist in wiki, it's not a danger for Bitcoin, more for banks. Bitcoin - is addresses is hash from public key. quantum computers is dangerous against exactly public-key cryptography and allow to recover private key sometimes... for bitcoin that's not gonna help much, wallet is hash, hash is non-reversible even for QC. I can answer on this in time more.
