I love that although the world around them may see them as flawed, when they see each other they are perfect. The camera was just a tool to show us this. When they were playing around and singing together they were not shown through the camera. Just them, loving, laughing and living. Then the harsh reality came through (that bloody cube) and spoiled it for them showing again the prejudice and unfairness that they had to endure. A full story told beautifully all in five minutes. 😢💜

In some cultures, the right eye is associated with qualities like rationality, logic, and the conscious mind, while the left eye may symbolize intuition, emotion, and the subconscious. So he could see thru the left eye, able to love, while he could not see thru the right, disabling the rationality and conformity side. The cube is the normality, rationality, conformity to strict standards which enslave the human side. Both eyes that is both view are important, but if only one prevails that there is unbalance. That is to be fully human we need both rational and emotional side. The video is really like a cinematic metaphor with an emotional music, and it's like a mini movie. Well done! Kudos to IU and V. 💜💜

I loved how equal the characters in Love Wins All mv were. Equally scared, equally thinking of ideas to survive, equally protective of each other. Equally brave, equally in love.

I was thinking the same thing. I sure hope the director etc made a prequel/storyline video because we are invested now because of their strong chemistry. This is a masterpiece in every way. Leaving us wanting more from IU and V. Notice how IU is praised for everything in this video and not 1 person on social media has come for her with being V's love interest. That is extremely rare. Shas had the most interaction with most of the BTS members, Hobi, Suga and now Tae. Oh and she had a crush on RM back in the day but never called him. Lol. Poor JK. He's the special guest in that cube. Lol.

The left eye was blind, which is how we see the world sometimes. I took it as the cube/square was what they wanted everyone to fit into. They were both marred, one blind, one mute so they couldn't stay. Possible they were taken somewhere else and made new leaving behind the old rags of their life. Also, the cube turned red could mean love, or Mars... like she said in her lyrics from Earth to Mars. Maybe they became Martians🤭

Actually, I took the cube turning red as a symbol of anger and hatred as generally the color red represents those types of emotions, especially in the context of the MV. I think part of great acting is the ability to express emotion through their eyes and facial expressions. IU is EXTREMELY good at this, you can sense the desperation as she and V run away from the cube during the wedding scene, the fear in her eyes as the cube approaches, and somewhat of a look of determination right at the very end before they float up.

I love the mv and am so torn over it gives me nightmares. I can see it from so many perspectives it makes my head hurt! It's a five minute movie which needs a freaking ending so that we can sleep peacefully!! I think we should ask the creators wth they were thinking by making us crazy over it✌️

BTS are so supported of each others. They all love each other so much like real brothers. Even when they were all doing solo projects. They were supported each other. There were no jealousy towards the members. When it was a member turn to shine. Everyone let that member shine. That's why I love BTS so much ! ❤❤💜💜💜💜💜💜💜😭😭😭😭

My theory based on IU's letter about the song and the director's words - 1. I think V here represents the people IU loves - friends, family and fans. 2. At the start they appear worn and battered as they are hunted by the cube. The square/cube could represent hate and prejudice, and through an extended meaning also represent putting people in a box and eliminating those who don't. 3. IU cannot speak and uses sign language. It could mean not having a voice but still being able to communicate with the people she loves, represented by V. V is blind in the left eye. This could have a specific meaning as a Korean idiom, but I think in general the left is associated with 'Yin' - darkness and negativity. This could be the meaning behind "those who only see the world with their left eyes". So V being blind in the left eye could signify a bright and positive outlook. They also remind me of 'A Quiet Place' and 'Bird Box' - dystopian movies that are metaphors for being quiet and unseeing to protect yourself in a hostile environment. 4. Perhaps the camcorder either lets them see a world before it became hostile it or as an alternate reality. Here they are happy and unwounded. 5. I think certain references are meant to be made in connection to V or BTS i.e., the people in black clothing and the heap of clothes - which ARMY would immediately see as haters and victims respectively. 6. Through the camera - they are dining and are surrounded by people in black clothing. I think these are haters who are humans here instead of instead of intimidating cubes. The lovers can feast here, tease the haters and steal their food without being scared of them. They are playfully bopping the haters with a red balloon (love). Here, the lovers are unafraid and the haters are powerless. IU can sing and V can see with both eyes wide open. The haters in black clothes point fingers and yell at them but they are unaffected. 7. There is some significance to the flowers they put behind each others ears. Flowers are an important theme with IU. I think the yellow daisy behind Tae's ear signifies happiness and could also reference her song 'Bbibbi'. I don't know the flower Tae puts behind IU's ear. 8. But in the next scene there is the hate cube instead of the human haters. Either they were intruded on from their fantastical world of love by the cube or this is a memory of how it started - their haters morphed into a powerful cube. 9. They try to run away from the cube but we see through a crack in the wall that they are everywhere and have taken over the world. This is a world where hate rules. They are inevitable and the odds are stacked against those who love. It's interesting how haters can co-exist with lovers in the other world but lovers are hunted down in the world of hate. 10. IU picks up a rod to fight the cube/hate, but V (I think representing her fans here) takes the rod and fights that battle instead. But in this hateful world, they are helpless against the hate and prepare for their end. 11. As the cube bursts with hate, IU covers V's right eye and a tear falls from his right eye. A tear falling from the right usually symbolises crying out of happiness and healing vs. a tear falling from the left eye which means sadness. I think it means even though this is the end, V is happy that they are together. IU crying from both eyes in contrast could mean that the end is bittersweet for her. I think IU feels grateful and strengthened by the support of people who will love her till the end but perhaps also feels saddened because of all the pain they had to go through together - "For what fault must we be so together?", "In the end, even though, how is it us for us" (Accurate translation I found on twitter: "In the end still, I wonder why it had to be the two of us for each other") and "Two of us, side by side, gone astray on purpose". :( Edit: I've just realised that it the left eye and not the right eye that is seeing. So, I think there is another meaning to this. But there definitely seems to be one. 12. The scene where they perish - the cube destroyed them in this hateful world but through the lens of the camera we see them as if floating. Just as how everything else seems different when viewed through the camera, this could either depict a vision of them ascending above it all and the battery ending could be symbolic of the end of their run together OR it could be showing the past and their first encounter with the cube - where IU would have lost her voice and V would have lost his eye. It could either mean they are together in both situations or that they were together from start to end. 13. I think the piles of clothes represents victims of hate. People who ended up losing their lives because of haters, still remembered and leaving their mark behind. I think perhaps the cube also perishes with them. I used google translate so the translation could be wrong, but this is IU's letter about the song - 'Some say this is an era of great hatred. It certainly doesn't seem like a time when love is prevalent. In an increasingly gray world with palpable hostility and indifference sometimes it feels absurd to hope for victory using invisible love as a weapon. However, from what I have experienced first-hand, hate is always alone even when the momentum is good. On the other hand, even though it runs away, breaks down, and fades away, love stays together forever. Love has a good chance of winning. It contains the stories of those who try to love until the end in a world that hinders love. As a side note, this album, which contains five songs, has two songs dedicated to the people I love, especially my fans, and one of them is the song 'Love wins all'. From the age of 18, when I suddenly received great love and my life changed overnight, until now. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about what's going to happen. I thought it was vaguely lonely, scary, and inevitable. But after thinking about it like that every day for ten years, my attitude toward it changed little by little. It's not that scary now. I don't think I will feel any more regretful or lonely at that moment. Above all, it doesn't seem that close. The reason why I, a pessimistic and worried child, was able to change so much is probably because there were people who reassured me every day without getting tired over the past 10 years. Thanks to them, when I think about it, I have never been alone for a single moment while living as IU. To my diligent fans who have never left me alone. I would like to say thank you for nurturing endless love in my heart, who is probably a naturally hard-working type. Also, I still don't know why, but I'm really grateful that you always choose to be by my side. Just as you were with me, I want to be a person who is with you in your rising and falling moments. Yea! It's really interesting seeing both IU and V plays two characters disable Couple when IU plays death mute speak in sign language, and V being blind with one eye while She cover V other good eye to protect his good eye so He won't see of dark turn, and I just love the fact IU pick Up that long pipe weapon ready to fight that cube thing, but V being a Man took that long pipe from his Girl or Wife to protect Her to defend her honor with one blind eye but it didn't work the bunch cubes invade the earth snatching bodies leaving bunch pows of cloths, the good questions is where did the bodies go ??? I believe IU is not deaf in the MV, but V’s character is be both deaf & partially blind. Hence, IU mostly takes the lead & guides V whenever they are moving physically & running. A possible theory is that the Cube goes after anyone who is not perfect. So IU is the one who can face the cube without fear at the end ;& tries to protect V who has disabilities, from the cube. Eventually it is still ‘Love wins all’ because IU was able to leave together with V….both finally free from persecution & oppression!

[There might be spoilers for some in this comment! Don't read if you haven't seen the video!] I get the "in the end they're free" interpretation, but if this is honestly the way it was planned out, then I think the video is lacking in that aspect. Because it ends in darkness. Why? If it's a relief or release, why is it so dark in the end? Okay, the world they leave behind is still dark, but not even a ray of light that delivers them to their freedom? When the visuals are that strong the whole time - the world through the camera lense is also warm and bright - then I don't get, why they didn't also show that in the last scenes. And about the nominations: V should get the debut, J-Hope the best on screen and JK everything else so that we get maximum BTS success. International ARMYS who can vote, should do it. I'm from Germany, can't vote :(

I agree. The ending of the story is dark. I think we so desperately WANT a happy ending for the two lovers that we read hope into the story based on our own worldview. I did notice, however, the faint tinkling of windchimes at the very end of the video just before the credits. I interpret that as a hopeful sign (the sound made me think of Hope emerging from Pandora's box in Hobi's Jack In The Box Intro. Also Blue Side.)

Absolutely love iu. She has the most beautiful voices in kpop and she’s a superb actress. Love this song it was gorgeous. Didn’t get the video. Sorry. The whole box thing and sci-fi theme didn’t mesh with the beauty of the song for me. I’m proud of kpop they are really doing well and being recognized more by mainstream and the west. Young kpop are hitting big. Comebacks are going well ( taemin). Jimin and jk still breaking records with their albums. Closer than this is a hit. Kpop in 2025 hopefully will be even bigger by the time bts comes home! Can’t wait!

if there really was/is a relationship like that (because only they know & that's how it shoud be, either way, because even idols are entitled to some privacy. I mean, they give up so much for us that they do not have to, spending most of their lives making others happy) so if it exists, one thing to think about is; this; they've been able to be with eachother for over 10 years almost non stop, all 7 members, so they haven't been kept apart from eachother or ended by a cube after them. It likely is their own decision to not announce ANY love relationships, as well as it being a policy for most idols, because of how many overly obsessed fans who microanalyze every glance or eyebrow lift and tthen talk about grown men's private lives as if the are not human beings, but cartoons or something. I'm sure they prefer keeping their love interests if any exist, out of their careers. HYBE or BigHit chooses to not release info about any relationships the guys may've had or do have for many reasons, not least of which is; they don't want the guys to have to hear or go through judgemental people's toxicity & don't want an idol's private s..uality to be a factor in their careers either way, because every idol contends with a lot of pressure to not do anything (even inadvert- ently) to harm their careers. If the music video made you think about how it could relate to a couple being chased & not allowed to live, be happy because of the society they live in; then hopefully it highlighted the need for all the speculation about their private lives (among some 'shippers' & their channels) to stop, spreading their beliefs about the guys private lives, because if we love them, we should allow them their lil bit of privacy they still have, to be happy, instead of digging for proof constantly....so that no idol ever has to feel the way the characters in the m.v. felt. It's something to think about, how we'd feel if all these videos were made of us that portrayed us as soap opera characters, fodder for rumors and questionably true beliefs.

Please don't be too sad about your birthday, I know it can bring sad feelings, like sometimes even my 4 grown kids barely acknowledge mine, so I end up alone, no cards etc. so I know cause I get sad moments too & I have to remind myself to love myself and to not focus on negative thoughts & feeelings. It is ok to feel it & then let it pass on by. We all have been through a lot in our lives & we have gotten through them all, right? We're still breathing, many I knew have not been so fortunate & they are gone, too young. A birthday is a reminder to celebrate that you've been here another year & have one ahead now, so there are yet more days ahead to do anything you still want to do or wish you had done already, in this life. Reach out to someone you have not seen in a long time, just to say you miss their face. Do something special for yourself, manicure, hair cut, style, a ew thing you have wanted because you deserve it !! Remember we are all loved, by all of us, wherever we are.
