Used to watch this on a B&W tv while I was at uni, license was cheaper than for a colour telly, and the visual style worked really well. Almost coming across as a nod to the movie metropolis for the cityscape of gotham.

"Mind blowing" (gawd that term is SOOO overused) fact that What Culture missed- 'Batman: The Animated Series' was primarily a daily episodic offering during the now long-defunct Fox Kids animation block that ran Monday through Friday back in the 1990s. Fans didn't have to wait until the weekend to see the Bat take on all of his infamous big bads- they were able to watch it six days a week (counting the Saturday episode). Ay Ewan- maybe next time read the entire Wikipedia page (because you most assuredly didn't do any real time-consuming research on this show) before you cut the video together.

Yeah, the reason Robin was added in every episode was to make the 5 -11 year old demo watch the show. They got the toys but did not watch. The show appealed more to older audiences. Fox saw none of that toy money.
