You can also encounter Romani when it's already happened and not know what did whatever it was to her. If you go there on the first or second day without a powder keg, the way will be blocked by a boulder being chipped away at by a man with a pickaxe. If you go on the third day, however, he'll be done and you can go through... too late to prevent her from being taken.

You know, while I figured Malik could die, I worked as hard as I could to keep her alive in the majority of my playthroughs, only taking the other path the last time, when I tried for the first time a lethal one. Which yes, it's odd, since she's much harder to save when you go for non-lethal. I think her survival is canon, anyway, since I'm pretty sure the sequel mentions her being still alive.

In Majora's Mask during the Alien section of Romani's Ranch, you can use the Song of Inverted Time to slow down the aliens if you're having trouble getting them all, or you can let time progress normally if you have a system and enough practice killing the ghosts, or switch between slow time and normal time if you need to stock up on arrows, magic, or otherwise. Not really creepy, I guess, but its neat that it takes the rate of time passing into account.

In REAL life, a lot of drug dealers are themselves victims, a lot of the time they're heavy addicts, people who can't find other work, (often because of a criminal record) or just people who grew up so surrounded by drugs and crime it's the only world they really know. If we treated addiction as the medical issue it actually is instead of as a life ruining crime, we'd have SO MANY fewer people trapped in really difficult, unpleasant lives due to addiction. It's awesome to me that video games have gotten good enough that they can inspire weird ass philosophical conversations about how our own world works!

I think I have a obscure one for possible follow-up video in the future: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (PC version by KnowWonder) is already quite dark and scary for a kids game, but there is a little detail creepy in its own way: Most of the common enemies in this version of the game can only be stunned with Rictusempra or Flipendo spell and then carried or pushed around until they are thrown into a hole. If Harry doesn't get rid of them quickly enough tho, the stunning spell will wear off and the creatures will get bach on their feet. There are three exception however: - Giant Spiders that remain stunned after casting Rictusempra. You can't move them around and they remain on their back with only their legs slightly twitching. - Cornish Pixies are the most common flying enemies. After shooting them with Rictusempra they will hit the ground and turn into dust. - And the most cruel fate of all waits for Bowtruckles. In this game they are humanoid plant cretures said to protect trees they call home. Unlike most of the other enemies, to deal with them you don't use stunning spells but Diffindo, the severing charm used in the game mostly to cut ropes, vines and spider web blocking paths. In other words: Harry uses the severing spell to rip to shreds a living humanoid cretures so they won't bother him. Not to mention that killing Bowtruckles is the most common way to get a piece of bark needed as a ingredient for a useful potion.

So in real life history the Crimean Romani were a group of people (living in the Ukraine). When the Nazi's invaded the region the Romani people were ordered to present for "resettlement", which is nazi code word for incinerator. Josef Mengele was really found of using Romani Children in his human experiments. I haven't played majoras mask but aliens invading and taking a child named Romani who returns in very bad shape seems very similar to that time when the nazis invaded and took Romani children that were then returned in very bad shape. In fact I found recount of an event where two Romani siblings were surgically sewn together back to back in Auswitz. Afterwards they were returned to their parents still sewn togther. The parents of the children were able to get some morphine and used it to kill their two children to end their suffering. This seems similar to the moment described in which the one sister gives the other a drink. Furthermore Link has to assist Cremia and Romani escape from the Gormans. That is very close to Link needing to assist Crimea and Romani escape the Germans. I feel like this whole scenario hides a terrifying truth in easter egg form.

The thing about Malik is that it's a throwback to JC's brother Paul in the original. In the first game, when you turn rogue, you meet Paul is a hotel room, his safe house. Once there, MIB (robot men posing as government agents) storm the place. You have two options: Fight or jump out the window nearby. If you jump, you'll find Paul dead later on, having been overwhelmed. If you fight, he lives. Issue is, if you leave through the window after the fight, he'll still die (it's a trigger point for it). Plus, you don't have to fight. Paul can kill them himself. He's one of many characters you can save in game, but possibly the hardest to do so given players might not even be aware running kills him automatically. Quick shout to Dario from the original RE3. In game, he says he watched his entire family, his wife and child, be eaten by zombies. Hoooooowever, if you read the prequel comic that was released around the same time, you find out the ugly truth. Where Chief Irons killed the mayor's daughter to stuff her cos he had a creepy, maybe disturbingly sexual, obsession with her, Dario was just a coward. In the comics, we see that his family was eaten alive... But he might've been able to save them. His wife trips, his daughter begs her to get up but she's tired and now hurt. Dario, however, runs off to the safety of a barred fence, locking it behind him, and leaves them to be eaten alive as they stand at the very gate, screaming for him to come back, rotting hands gripping their flesh as he abandons them. Good news is, however, he gets what he deserves as zombies break into the warehouse later and eat up his yellow bellied self! Karma's a bitch, eh?

It wasn't like it was a really hard fight either (okay it was kind of hard, but not impossible), and the VTOL only explodes if you leave the area so it really isn't as time sensitive as the in-game dialogue makes it out to be.

Cordyceps are much more complex and scary than she outlined. Everything she said is true but the infected ants have their nervous system hijacked for one important reason and that is in order to reproduce. See, certain cordycep viruses are only able to reproduce inside of birds so they hijack ants in order to have them climb to the top of tall plants so they are easier prey. This particular reproductive cycle is not unique to cordyceps but its pretty fascinating/disturbing that these structures adapted such a complex life cycle. Let hope it never jumps to humans 🙏.

Those coughing guys that wrapped you up from a distance fused to a surface and became something like a barnacle (one of those things in Half Life that stick to the ceiling and drop that long tongue that pulls things up to it) but on steroids. Etc. so on, so forth

I don't think that that was jakownski because of the uniform. they are very similar to the dark signals uniform with the short sleeve and if it was jakownski don't you think he would have a blue sweater and a white vest but instead he has the same as all the failed candidates that were probably delta soldiers that were abducted in the first game and also wouldn't the FEAR team have a different uniform from the delta ?

It's a pretty oblivious Elder Scrolls player that doesn't realize that using black soul gems is incredibly evil, also incredibly convenient.

The fungus spreads by hijacking the insect... It forces it to crawl onto tall plants. They get eaten by birds, and spread by the bird's poop

Cordyceps is not a virus. It was correctly referred to as a fungus in the video at least once, but identifying it as a virus was really jarring to hear.

The truth about Jokers sister is a rip from Hawkeyes story from the show M.A.S.H. . Hawkeye is in a mental hospital, finally driven over the edge by a bus ride gone terribly wrong. The bus passengers, who were refugees, were in danger of being discovered and executed by a North Korean patrol. Hawkeye scolds the refugees to be quiet but a baby begins to whimper and its mother responds by smothering the child. Hawkeye repressed this by replacing the memory of the baby with that of a chicken.

okay, if you're going to talk about a game... do it right. Gordon Freeman did not cause the Black Mesa Incident. the Gman did by delivering such a pure sample, and Vance and the others over Freeman did by going with it, and adjusting power to the antimass spectrometer above 100%. Gordon Freeman even with his ph.d was a "Research Associate" this is lab jargon for the laborer... meaning... he makes no decisions... and he only performs menial tasks and is given no real responsibility or decision making power.
