You know what death got me as a kid seeing the movies when they came out? The Hoth Rebels in Empire Strikes Back who were gunned down by walkers as they were running away. Seriously, it really made me see how evil the Empire was as they kept shooting at them after they stopped fighting back

Everything that happened in Jabba's Palace would be considered a nightmare for anyone who ended up there in real life. You were either hung on the wall as a trophy, thrown in the dungeon, tortured and ripped apart, eaten by the rancor, sarlacc or any other beasts Jabba had, or enslaved. Making them puppet/muppet like was to make it more kiddish but the reality was truly frightening for the average person who found themselves there

You do know that several stormtroopers were not only killed but eaten by the Ewoks, right? They were ready to cook Han alive for their golden god so they probably did the same to imperial soldiers too.

If you haven't gotten to the prequels yet, I suggest Jango's deleted longer death where his arm is chopped off and a huge gash is sliced out of his thigh before getting beheaded.

I’ve always wondered if the captured Rebels from the beginning of A New Hope were also in the Deathstars detention block with Leia? If so then Luke killed them when he blew up the Deathstar.

Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru are burned alive…and Luke couldn’t care less. He also kills small animals. Luke Skywalker is a psychopath.

He spent his entire life being raised by them and barely reacts to them being incinerated, he spent two days with the weird hermit that his uncle hated (or, at least, vocally disliked) and was pretty much inconsolable when he got hit by a lightsaber and vanished. It doesn't add up at all. I will say, though, womp rats (which I'm guessing are the small animals you were referring to) are enormous. The 2 metre hole is the Death Star defences is described as being not much smaller than them, putting them at nearly 7 feet.

Same. I got most of the toys before I saw ROTJ -- I missed it in the cinemas and had to wait until it was shown on TV, years later. By then, I'd had a couple of years to play with the rancor and his keeper, and when I saw that scene, it hit me hard. And since then, it seems every piece of media that uses rancors seems to treat them very badly, indeed.

Harrison ford throwing Nazi's off cliffs that then do the "Wilhelm Scream...." Oh wait that was on Endor with the Imperial officer Han threw charges at the fell to his doom at the shield generator. Here's a quirk. In the Death Star 1 we se Porkins, Red 6,plow in. Then later when Luke is dodging a TIE, somebody calls "Red 6, can you see Red 5?". Despite having been dead for a bit, Red 6, Porkins, answers. Oh, znd with the torpedo shot, Luke kills over a million people, a vast number of them non-combatants. So Luke becomes a mass killer who easily surpasses his Daddy's body count, still well behind Tarkin, of course. And had Uncle Owen not been stubborn, Luke probably would, in due course, have become a standout TIE pilot for the Empire. It was, after all, the *Im po erial* Academy Luke wanted to apply to.

I literally cannot watch Episode 6 because of how sad the beast handler is after her death. Just breaks my heart for him. I’m in no way generally like that but something about that scene just makes the movie unwatchable for me. I’m just bummed out after and can’t enjoy anything else happening.

Just noticed Jules was referring to "Star Wars" as "Star Wars" ! Have Disney decided that it should be called by it's proper original title again? I'm only saying this because I saw it on the first day of General Release (27/12/1977) and for three years we knew it as "Star Wars" - Then when "The Empire strikes Back" was released, practically everyone in the Cinema at the time said "Five? Episode Five?" (and various combinations thereof) Nice Video. Though I would have changed the order around a bit . . . .

Why do some people pronounce ATAT "Eighty-Eighty" when, ever since The Empire Strikes Back came out, fans have called them At-Ats? It's something I've only started hearing in the last few years. Is it something said in the numerous TV spin-offs or just an example of a generational divide?

@@McKayDarkwood with acronyms, you can go either way. I think in the case of the AT-AT, we also have the AT-ST in the same movie, which kind of forces itself to be pronounced using individual letters.

Colonel Yularen's death hits hard. I really liked him in TCW. Also, Tarkin's hits hard too. All he was doing was trying to avoid another civil war that would tear apart the Galaxy. As for destroying Alderaan, blame their government for supporting a terrorist organization that was seeking to overthrow a legitimate government. IRL, Tarkin would be viewed as a hero like Air Marshal Harris & US General LeMay are.
