I meet Tina at my home town amusement park Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park CA 1988 . They held a annual event called Knotts scary farm .I was 17 she would have, I am to believe ,15 at the time . I knew of her status in the industry so I was a little timid and lost for words when we talked . Just a shy kid I was towards pretty girls in general. So the encounter was,to say the least ,awkward ,but memorable for me .I would like to know if she remembers the day . Anyways ,a belated congratulations on becoming a mother. If you raised your children with the passion you had towards your acting I am sure you have done a fine job .

I very much enjoyed Family Ties. I remember Meredith Baxter from a early sitcom, Bridget Loves Bernie. As Michael's youngest sister, Tina Yothers definitely gave him a run for his money. One thing about the show that threw me off is when they aged up Andy from an infant to a preschooler in one season.

Back in the day either when the show was still on the air or shortly after it was cancelled I saw her shopping at the Nordstrom at the Mainplace mall in Santa Ana. I didn’t say anything but was surprised to see her there instead of at the more upscale South Coast Plaza not too far away. In hindsight it says a lot about her humility.

In addtion to Family ties, Cheers was a stone throw away just accros the courtyard of what was Jefferson High school on Happy Days. Webster was on stage 20 and Solid Goldon Stage 29. Entertainment Tonight was accross from Solid Gold . On the film side of the lot, you had Star Trek III and IV, Coming to America and more. There was so much going on at that time. When I was in my mid-teens, the unstoppable NBC Thursday night lineup was The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers and Night Court. I liked them all. Tina's character wasn't focused on as much as the others, as I recall. In fact, I remember an SNL sketch of the era where they had Victoria Jackson play the character, in which she only nods her head and agrees with the other characters. Anyone remember the show "Puttin' on the Hits" from the 80s? It was basically a lip synching contest with celebrity judges, and she was one of them. In that episode, she talked about an upcoming album called "Mad About the Boy," and I was like, "What? She has musical ability?" I think another judge on that episode was Donald Fullilove (Goldie Wilson from BTTF), and the host was super excited to list one of his qualifications as having been "in over FIFTY commercials!"

I grew up watching family ties and always love the show as a kid. Although, as an adult for whatever reason I usually don't watch the reruns on our local cable networks. I guess what tastes good for breakfast isn't always what I crave for dinner. Tina was always a cute child star and had good comedy chops. Actually, I think the last time I saw her on television was the Laker girl movie. It's nice to know that she moved on in life and has been happy. Many others that grew up in the Hollywood entertainment industry were not as fortunate. In reflection, most of my friends had huge crushes on Justine Bateman and I can hardly blame them. Thanks for this update on _Famiy Ties_. It was a great show, and it ended way too soon. I definitely remember it starting on Wednesday night at 9:30 pm. I remember watching it from the beginning. I never understood why Michael Gross grew the beard. I guess he wanted to look older. It later moved to it's 8:30 Thursday slot between _Cosby Show_ and _Cheers_. _Night Court_ was on at 9:30. _Hill Street Blues_ and _LA Law_ were on at 10pm. NBC owned Thursday night for a long time after that. Of course, having a baby was a huge mistake. A new baby ruins almost every television show. I don't know why so many producers keep doing this. I liked how the Keatons could argue the big issues in a civil and polite manner. They were like the Bunkers, but definitely toned down. I also think _Family Ties_ is the only show that was based in Columbus, Ohio.

She went to my high school. We were in the same grade, but she had home studies. I knew her older brother, Corey. He played the drums. Good guy.

@Dave Sundstrom You should do a video on former child star ''Danielle Brisebois''. Who is perhaps, best known for her role as Stephanie Mills. On the Norman Lear-produced sitcoms (All in the Family) and its continuation series (Archie Bunker's Place). For which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. Like ''Tina Yothers'' Brisebois would later have a successful career in music. As a singer-songwriter and producer.

Respect Tina/et al for trying different things. Laker Girl, Jaded - they climbed the mountain/few do. Even if you try to go up the mountain the World respects you.
