I met Willie while I was working at a interior design store in Newport Beach back in the 80s along with a few other movie "stars". I can say Willie was absoulutly the nicest star I met there. I wish Willie all the best. I grew up with his Tommy, and he of all the Bradfords had a character who really grew and evolved. He had some of the best storylines in "Eight is Enough" when he was up against tough choices, walking the razor's edge between boyhood and manhood, and he acted very well! I am watching the show decades later as an adult, and I am enjoying the deeper storylines woven into the show and Willie's strong and sympathetic portrayal of Tommy. I love especially the scenes in which Dick Van Patten as Tom says to him, "I,m proud of you, son." I also think that Willie was awesome: talented far beyond his teen idol charms of the times. He was just cool!

@@jdsundstrom I saw "Zapped!" on cable back around the 1980s, and I thought it was so horrible, all the people involved should be ashamed of themselves for it. (I have the same opinion of "Problem Child 2".) It did offer character actor Roger Bowen as the main character's (alcoholic) dad and Sue Ane Langdon as a school teacher who crosses Baio's character, leading him to embarrass her in class & later on. (Bowen & Langdon were in the early 1970s series ARNIE together.) It WAS as bad as the poster suggests and worse, ending at the prom, w/ lots & lots of nudity. At least CHARLES IN CHARGE wasn't as bad. I'm glad Mr. Aames found his Bibleman character later. An aside: his last name guarantees him top billing in any & every show that has alphabetical billing.

As a huge fan of the show "Eight is Enough", I hope you will do features on the other cast members (hey, one kid down, seven to go, right?) and perhaps the show itself. Interesting tidbit about the show, actress Laurie Walters (Joannie) was about six months older than the actress that played her step mother (Betty Buckley). Do yourself a favor and skip "Zapped". I am always sad, but unsurprised, to hear how some child stars have horrible lives. Some end up dead. Some overcome it, Drew Barrymore is also an example, and some just have few issues. I'm glad he was able to overcome all that and have a happy life now.

Zapped is one of the most underrated movies. I love it.
