A little tip, When in the game catalogue on the PS5 console set the filter list to A - Z . This allows the complete list of games to be viewed when looking at the cloud game catalogue. (at the moment you cant change the filter list on the portal)

Just one important note for our great Troy. You don't need to put your PS5 back to rest mode for the portal to be able to connect to it. Turning it on is enough.

​@@WhatGear Naw when it comes to the console you only supposed to turn it off when you need to unplug it. Normally you supposed to keep it in rest mode. In rest mode doing the remote play its supposed to be smart enough to know not to turn your tv on. Like it normally knows the difference when its being used for remote play or when someone is on the console. Unless there is something funky going on with your tv's hdmi cec settings

It's definitely the most comfortable & I think the controllers are the best out there. It's tricky to say that it's the best handheld, as it doesn't have onboard storage. If it did, and if it could play offline...it would be a top competitor in my opinion.

@KyleGuitarLife I really hope so. The PSP back in the day was such a beast. I never actually got to own a Vita unfortunately but I head lots of good things about it. If they do release one. There's a few things they have to do. Allow it to be plugged into a big screen, like the Nintendo switch. use an OLED 120hz display. Allow for interchangeable batteries & memory. WiFi 6 connectivity & mobile SIM. And the option to pair a dual sense wirelessy when playing on TV. If they do that it will be a winner🏆

Anyone else’s game catalog just simply not loading after update? Once I click beta option it says “loading game catalog”. The text saying that goes away and all I see is the blue circle with the theme playing in the background. I 100% have PlayStation premium, restarted the system and even updated my actual ps5 no luck so far with this update. Slightly disappointed

Hello. Do you have to go through the PS5 connection step to start the PS Portal and connect to your PS+ Premium account and play streaming from the Sony catalog, please? I live abroad and bought a PS Portal for my son for Christmas (with delivery directly to my mother's hime where we will spend the holidays) and I really hope that I will be able to configure the PS Portal from its first start and make it work directly in streaming mode... on Christmas Day. In this video (congratulations for the quality work by the way!), it is not explained if during the initial configuration phase, the PS connection step is mandatory or can be avoided when starting the PS Portal for the first time. It is in beta mode so only 120 games at the moment. They did mention ps3 and ps4 games not available now but i think once they open this up its insane value for money! Cheapest way to get into a new handheld gaming with insane quality games. :).

I have a feeling they will change it up eventually. Currently with the PS+ Catalog they update it every month by adding new games and removing others. I am not sure if they have different plans for the portal but I would assume it will follow how PS+ works now.

The games are all in the cloud so if you are in a cave or mountain without internet, it is just like a useless electronics you have. Owning (1) PS Portable will need you just a (2) premium monthly subscription and (3) internet. without the those 3, it won’t work. Suddenly missed that PSP way back.

You have to make sure it’s updated and them go to settings and enable cloud play it’ll ask you to upgrade to PlayStation plus premium because that is the only one that works and then you will have to believe sign out and sign back in. But mine is not working so you might have a bit of trouble

I've tried several Call of Duties on the portal and can say it's defiantly playable. The delay is there with it being streamed to the Portal but does not ruin your gameplay. I find it works a lot better with Zombies over online multiplayer due to needing to have a quick reaction time online and the portal having that millisecond delay.

Being streamed, the delay will always be there. As for it being any better, I do not notice a difference besides my the screen looking much more crip and not looking pixelated at times like before the update. Realistically, playing COD on the portal is defiantly do-able but with it being a fast paced FPS, you may have a more enjoyable time on the PS5. That's why I brought up COD: Zombies, they are more predictable and don't 360 no scope you from 2 stories.

Another basic update. They had a device like this come out an it failed miserably. Most people dont buy these to use with sn internet connection lol they buy it because they want to Play on the go.
