You should never just listen to anyone and think you are getting all the facts no matter who it is. It is our duty to also find out the facts and the statements made by these organizations themselves aren’t always as straightforward as they claim. You first have to start with the actual truth to be able to report the actual truth.

@@SeerSeekingTruthThat sentiment means less the longer I am on this earth. Truth is used in place of ideological position. You can say something that is true. But, in the context you say it you are still lying to people. Immigrants are being blamed for there being less jobs for America's. While that only makes up a small percentage of the truth. Refusal to hire anyone who is not a high value worker. That has kept me out of the workforce for my lifetime. I am forty years old. So the Democrats or Republicans cannot be blamed for that one. Since, both administrations have been in power during that time. Though, Democrats do more commonly support workers rights when compared to Republicans.

You really want to understand what is going on? May 21, 2011 was the beginning of judgement day on the world - you were WARNED loudly and clearly in the mainstream media, by radio, by billboards, by tract trips, by internet... And it shall come to pass in that day, a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbor. Zechariah 14;13 "Tumult" = confusion and disbelief ...the result is division for the punishment of mankind. Brexit split EU Ukraine/Russia split swift payment and cheap resources from the world system China/USA trade war split manufacturing and many markets Isarael/Gaza/Houthi split the red sea trade route Panama drought split east west trade Evergreen stuck in Suez yep, split red sea trade look for DIVISION ! ...now rich vs poor - labor disagreements Division is worldwide in religions, politics, economics, industry, news, sciences, sports, medicine, entertainment, and even between the sexes ... look at events in the light of division (Sal is reporting events and details in one little area of his expertise) 'deglobalization' is the result of Satan's kingdom being divided - a house divided cannot stand. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity, I will mock when your fear cometh. Proverbs 1; 24-26 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3;7 { it is written } The Lord is known by the judgement which he executeth, the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. Psalm 9;16 what, you thought the bible is a fairy tale? Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing, and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgement. Ecclesiastes 8;5 spoiler alert: The biblical calendar has been known, published(1974), and carefully studied for half a century. The are 40+ time-paths from the bible pointing to 2033 as the 'last day' go look up: Ebible2 timelines READ THE BOOK ! ...or rather should have

It is hard to overstate the magnitude of this impending shipping logistics disaster. And the strike would not only affect container freight. This would affect bulk exports as well, because a slowdown of refrigerated container protein exports will increase livestocks, which will decrease soybean and grain supply due to local consumption, hence reducing bulk grain exports, thus likely increasing regional and global grain prices. And the longer the strike, the more compounded the impact becomes. If the parties are not even on talking terms, it's hard to imagine a collective bargaining agreement by October 1st. This is big everyone, and thank you Sal for reporting.

Dad gum it. The last time the Fed took a hand in a labor struggle they stopped the worker's railroad strike. This time they ought to step in and stop the corporate pigs, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. I'm afraid the government's already too corporate itself to hinder those of it's own spawn or whatever Woody Guthrie might have called them right before he sang "This Land Was Made For You And Me". A strike would/will put your city's people supportive or not into a struggle between common worker's strength through Union/Working Class Solidarity against the Big Money Bosses unlike any since the 1930's. 'And way past due if you ask me. Unions have given more than they've got for decades, and took a near mortal blow when the "owner's" off shored American Made manufacturing to the comparatively labor slaving higher profit paying Pacific Rim decades ago. They didn't mind America's first waves of mass homelessness since the Great Depression that followed the de-industrialization of manufacturing America... !... Dad gum it! I can say that cause I'm an old dad who gums cause all his teeth are gone, and I was one of them seeing this stuff go as it has for half a century. "Solidarity" worked wonders in Yugoslavia. It can work here, and the pressure isn't going down by itself.

The ILA tried to start this process 2 years ago and the USMX did not want to discuss anything seriously. Everyone should realize that ILA labor is less that 1% of shipping cost. The cause of inflation is a direct result of the shipping rates that were charged during Covid by these overseas shipping lines. There are no American lines that we negotiate with and they should absolutely take care of the hard working Americans that load and unload their cargo.

As a truck driver I experienced how unproductive and lazy some of these union longshoremen can be. It shouldn't take 6 hours to go into the port to get a container thats supposed to already be off the ship. Too many lunch breaks, smoke breaks, talking, and not working. If Automation will make getting a container out of the ports a 2 hour at most process the truck drivers will welcome it.

@@lisakaye9340 With that you are ahead of 80% of the population and can stay safe at home if necessary. It takes time to build up supplies. We did it by identifying meals that were very, vety frugal where the ingredients could be stored long-term. It's less costly to buy a year's worth of these things rather than canned and convenience foods. We store the ubiquitous beans, rice, sprouting seeds, vegetable seeds, canned vegetables, flour, masa for tortillas, natural peanut butter, and canned fish first, then we keep adding salt, spices, vinegar, sugar, honey, healthy oils, nuts, popcorn, and other staples to have a more varied diet. Sitting here in the American Midwest, just north of Chicago, I’m wondering how this will impact not just the coasts but the interior waterways. I started seriously following this channel when the Canadians were about to go on strike to see the impact it might have on the Chicago/Calumet City port of the St. Lawrence seaway system. I found the channel around the time of the Suez Canal blockage and started watching almost daily since the Dali/Frances Scott Key Bridge collapse. It’s amazing the impact global shipping has on our lives even if we aren’t always aware of the factors at play. I appreciate Sal explaining this industry, its past, present and potential future in impacts on our daily lives. My question: with East Coast shipping at a standstill, how will goods move to the interior of the US? I’m assuming with the port of NY closed containers won’t be offloaded to smaller ships that can travel through the St. Lawrence Seaway system and since New Orleans also part of the ILA strike the Mississippi will have the same issue. Trucking from the West coast won’t be at scale. Budgets are already tight for the upcoming quarter leading towards the holidays and end of the year so just another hit to the economy we don’t need. I really do hope the current administration has a plan, even if it isn’t being shared with the public, to pressure both sides to go back to the negotiating table.
