It's part of it, since it's a potent elimination diet, but it's far more than that. Most people are malnourished, their metabolism does not work properly and they are constantly hungry due to a lack of nutrients that leads to them to eat a surplus of calories, as their body seeks out required compounds. Eating nothing but meat quickly reverses that situation and allows your metabolism to rebound and your mitochondrial and cytoplasmic health to recover, so that your body starts working properly again.

For a second there I thought you were saying that after a year you took your first dump because the Dr said it was OK to not defecate.... By the way though, there is a clear link between transit time (how often you do defecate) and certain types of cancer. You don't want it sat there for days at a time. So you should try to introduce sources of fibre in order to help this. Just be systematic about it so you don't start eating whatever it was that was making you sick in the first place.

@@FlatToRentUK Don't do this stuff. You can't link arbitrary links like transit time to "cancer". My take. People have a lot of food-related allergies. Red meat is simply the least allergenic food out there. So it is basically a perfect elimination diet. I'm quite open minded and even enjoyed a few months of carnivore myself but lets be rational. Take top 10 regions of the world when it comes to health and longevity. Look at what they eat. It's mostly a mix of fresh unprocessed food. Why not just stick to a diet that's been proven to work for centuries and millions of people? Mikhaila Peterson is actually trying to reintroduce other food back. She recently said that she suspects her problems were caused by black mold exposure. I personally think people just can't tolerate this ultra processed crap that we eat anymore and going carnivore allows them to eliminate it. More and more people are starting to add things like organic blueberries to their carnivore diet with great success for example.

There is a rabit trail of chemicals being put in our food that would horrify you. All these diets are really getting people off of ultra processed foods and chemical filled foods whether they know it or not. Example: High fructose corn syrup (in soda, inflammatory), atrazine (reproductive harm, sprayed on corn), glyphosate (used to dry wheat), yellow #20 (made from petroleum), dextrose, maltodextrin, dextrin, tetrasodium pyrophosphate, sodium ______ (anything not "Sodium Chloride"), citric acid, nanotechnology, apeel waxy coating for fruit, any cooking oil that is not "cold pressed" is made with hexane (a neurotoxin), Monosodium Glutamate (MSG), mono/di glycerides (soap!), Caffeine, Carmel color, Aspartame (used to embalming!), teflon (comes right off your pan into your food). You should look up the side effects of these chemicals. This is just scratching the surface.

Now I eat eggs, bacon, fatty fish, beef, lamb, chicken once in a while, homemade beef bone broth, oysters, mussels, etc. I'm 69. The picture of me is current. Within the first few months the following issues were gone or disappearing: minor arthritis in my fingers, constant bloating after eating, two or three bowel movements daily (now it's two/three per WEEK), lack of flexibility in my hips and legs, tiredness for the first hour or two every morning, inconsistent energy levels, lack of concentration (brain fog), polyps, and so many more small things that my doctor said were "Just a normal part of getting older." WTF? If you decide to try carnivore, do it right. Find the best sources of info, plan your transition, plan your meals. If you're on medication consult your doctor. I was pescatarian for about a year, then a vegan for two and a half. After that my health was in ruins. I was severely depressed (due to a tragedy that happened to me), but my diet made it worse. For a long time I wasn't getting any better. I was asked to take a blood test for a workplace health check and turned out I was B12 deficient, despite taking the recommended amount in a vegan multivitamin with B12- it was non-animal based B12 and for some reason my body did not use if sufficiently. I felt truly betrayed by all the vegans that even told me I wouldn't need the B12 vitamin because my diet was "perfect". One day I just bought grilled salmon and ate it- and it was mind-blowing. Soon after, I bought beef. Now, I'm not 100% carnivore but I try my best and I still feel better than ever when I was vegan. I believe in the natural world we would do this seasonally. During the wet season it's very easy to gather and eat plants but very difficult to hunt. But during the dry season there's no leaves on the trees, no fruits, only root vegetables. Watering holes dry up, forcing animals to gather at the few remaining watering holes, making it very easy to hunt. If you study the Hadza tribe, this is what they do. They naturally go through a period where they mostly eat meat, and most certainly trigger ketosis.

One suspected compound is a carbohydrate (a type of sugar molecule) called N-glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc). People can’t produce Neu5Gc on their own. While most mammals produce the sugar, humans lost a functional copy of the gene needed to produce Neu5Gc several million years ago. However, when people eat things with Neu5Gc like red meat, the Neu5Gc can be incorporated into their cells. The reason researchers think Neu5Gc may be harmful is that the immune system recognizes it as foreign and makes antibodies against it. This causes inflammation, the body’s natural response to protect against something harmful. This could be why diets rich in red meat diets have been linked to inflammatory diseases like colon cancer and forms of heart disease.

Is it what people are eating i.e meat that's making the difference or is it what's being eliminated that's making the difference?
@fuckyougeorgebush26 күн бұрын
It's what's being eliminated. "Meat" has defense systems like legs that allow it to run away, or teeth and claws to defend itself. Plants can't defend themselves, so they have to rely on chemicals. That part about gas really made something click for me. I recently adjusted my eating habits to make sure I was _only_ eating when I was hungry, avoiding sugar and sugar substitutes, and stopping eating whenever I first started to feel full (not when I had finished the meal). Not a keto diet; just listening to my body more instead of telling my body when I "should" eat. With this change, I thought I'd change my breakfast from the egg and sausage breakfast sandwiches I'd been eating to oatmeal. From day 1 of eating oatmeal, I started feeling ill around midday, along with gas, bloating, and cramping. Not realizing that was the cause, I kept eating the oatmeal over the next few days with the same results: feeling ill, gas, bloating, and cramping. The next time I had breakfast, I switched back to egg and sausage breakfast sandwiches: no ill effects. No gas. No bloating. No cramps. I haven't looked back. The rest of the oatmeal is still sitting on my desk. I don't think I'm going to eat it. And now I'm starting to wonder if the salad I had for lunch is the cause of the headache I feel coming on... food for thought.

@holynightwingfan451021 күн бұрын
And you did that within only a few days? Of course you will still have gases, geez... our bodies are not machines, we need plenty of time to adjust. Also there are indeed certain groups of foods that may be not the ideal for each of one. In my case I increased the fiber intake, including oats. My gases were gone within 2 weeks of eating more fruits, nuts, oats, meat, veggies and leaving the processed food out of my life. The gas part happens with ANY diet change, including carnivore. After a month I was feeling great and even fantastic after 2 months, in a way that I've never felt before. There is also the possibility, especially people with these radical diets, that they just add "healthy foods" but don't make any other adjustments of, for example, excluding any processed food and if possible cooking at home (I have 2 jobs so it's feasible if you plan). So of course any food added could become a villain if the person just add it without any other adjustments. In carnivore diet case for example, people usually leave ALL processed food, so of course they will feel better.

You should do a video on histamine sensitivity and on igg food tolerance test for discovering inflammatory foods, how much time does one need to abstain to lets say eggs or dairy until it no longer creates inflammation when consumed The two biggest bottlenecks of carnivore and you can be the first one to address it in a popular way since they are severely misregarded while being the biggest causing factors of unsuccess on the carnivore diet :) Btw the antibodies are the only reason lion diet is “the ultimate elimination diet” but actually if you eat any wild meat or fish from an healthy animal that has no farmed equivalent, and is usually consumed fresh (no canning no preservatives) that it has to be tolerated by such sensitive people - just wont be as ideal as ruminant meat for the lack of certain compounds like taurine, carnitine, carnosine… You will help many people that way! :)
