This could explain the stall in the potty learning journey. She knows something's up. A change in the environment and a person not in the home with her and mom who she's used to seeing there can indeed be stressful for small children, but I think this is especially the case here. Routine things she may have done with both parents present may feel different for her too and it is good to include this aspect of parenting as the whole family adapts to what's happening.

I have 7 children, our 5 biological children and 2 foster children we are raising permanently. My husband was an incredible father and husband, but he died suddenly. Raising 7 children grieving 7 different ways, as I deal with my own grief and devastation has been the biggest challenge of my life.
