They couldnt really use the Master, as if the Doctor died when he did, he never would have ended up taking Martha to the events of Utopia where she caused The Master's personality to be reawakened.

Also, even if he still managed to have his personality back he wouldn’t be able to go anywhere due to not having the TARDIS.

But how comes the doctor couldn’t go back to the witches episode and stop them. Or the one in Pompeii. I just thought about it and I hope someone can give me answer as I don’t want plot holes but the thought just occurred to me

@@jakeclough8090 I think you mean, what about the consequences of all the other threats he didnt stop because he died in The Runaway Bride, like The Shakespeare Code. I think we have to assume that just like Sarah Jane, Torchwood etc stepping into the Doctors place in the examples shown, someone else must have there, or perhaps the witches scheme failed on their own.

@@jakeclough8090 Well, if you want to describe time, it's more like a wibbly, wobbly, timey, wimey stuff...? Actual attempt at an explanation: a new parallel dimension is split off from the original one at the point Donna makes a different decision. Everything that happened in the past, before the split, has already happened before the dimensions were split. In Turn Left's dimension, it really doesn't matter that the Doctor died before he could save the world in his past, because that dimension doesn't have that past. Its inception point is the instant Donna makes a different decision, and only after that does it actually exist.

In Silence in the Library, Donna wanted to know why River Song didn't know her in the future. Trivia- The actress who played the fortune teller also played Chantho, the insect-lady assistant to Prof. Yana, in the season three episode Utopia.

I think the deal with the bug is that it has a natural perception filter, but its not 100% effective. Most people dont really register the bug but the odd person catches it out the corner of their eye, and just wont let go of staring at it.
@glygriffe4 жыл бұрын
And people notice the bug when a major event, that could have been prevented by the Doctor, is happening. It might be harder to keep the perception filter active in those moments.

Series 4 is the most solid season of Doctor Who ever. Every episode is either good, great or a masterpiece. And what great acting skills. The tears in Wilfreds eyes... Brilliant!

Donna's grandfather's a WW2 vet (I believe, he's certainly the right age) so when he says "Labour camps...that's what they called them last time...it's happening again..." that...that's what he's referencing. And it was the Library 2-parter where River expressed surprise at meeting Donna, because she hadn't met her before despite knowing the Doctor's future.
@shophaune22984 жыл бұрын
@Heather Stephens There's apparently an officially-canon audio book where Donna mentions he enlisted for WW2 whilst underage, and another later TV episode mentions he was a private in 1948 in Palestine.
@arnaudbouret55624 жыл бұрын
@Heather Stephens That is indeed what Wilf explains to the Doctor in the final episode of Tennant's run - The End of Time. Wilf's story is actually taken from his actor's personal experience: Bernard Cribbins was too young to have served in WW2, but he did serve in Mandatory Palestine in 1947-48.

The master never would have come back because the doctor never went to the end of the universe. There’s a lot of call backs. In Fires of Pompeii one of the seers mentions something on Donna’s back. In the library episodes, Donna asks River why she doesn’t know her if she (River) is from the Doctors future which references the fact that Donna is no longer around. In planet of the ood, the ood mention that the Doctors song must end soon which maybe what you’re thinking of when you heard Rose say that Donna was going to die.

"Bad Wolf" is the entity that Rose became when she looked into the heart of the Tardis and became one with the time vortex. Rose was "Bad Wolf" for a short moment, during the end of the season one, two-parter episode. So "Bad Wolf" (the Time Vortex entity), knows all of time and space and therefore uses it's name that the Doctor understands, to warn him how much severe danger (The Darkness is coming!) the future is in. In other words:- • Bad Wolf = Good • The Darkness = Bad I hope this is clear enough for you.

Bad Wolf is basically a message/warning between The Doctor and Rose, that some sort of darkness is coming. It started in series one warning them both about the daleks, and here for the end of the universe. I'm so glad you enjoyed this episode, it really feels like series two and series four come crashing together 👌

Sarah Jane Smith has a spinoff called The Sarah Jane Adventures that was airing the same time as this more or less, it was on the CBBC (Children's BBC) it was like a more child friendly Doctor Who, the opposite of the adult-oriented Torchwood!

The creature was a part of the Trickster’s Brigade, entities made during the Time War led by The Trickster a being that grows more powerful by creating tiny changes in time that create larger ripples. Like The Trickster himself, I imagine that his servants don’t fully exist in reality, they just affect it and alter it. So perhaps when people see it, it is feeding at that moment.

I flipped out at the end when he went back into the street. When Donna told River her name in the library she looked at her and said "your Donna? I'm so sorry." The fortune teller in this episode is the same woman who played Chan Doe, the bug lady in the episode "Utopia"

I really love hearing you praising "Midnight" That was one of my all time favorite Doctor Who episodes. And it works even for someone w The Library Episode indicated something bad for Donna but didn't specific. River was shocked at seeing Donna but would not tell her showed up. I I think the Alt-U Donna changed the timeline back before the Master's storyline unfolded. So that remained the same. Catherine Tate is great at Drama.

The bad wolf thing is confusing. Apart from the show wanting to give a cool call back I think that Rose uses those words to refer to the need to do something drastic like the creation of the bad wolf. Or it could be that her force of human mixed with the time vortex resembles what is happening where humans are caught up in time and space.

Maybe it's just the fact that we're watching an edited, condensed reaction, but I find it very frustrating when he pulls himself out of the show to try and remember names and titles and past events. Watch the story, in front of you first, and _then,_ during the breakdown, recall past events. I always feel like he's missing things, but I'll admit, maybe the editing just makes it "seem" that way.
