This is still my favorite episode, it’s so real, it’s so dark, it’s so grown up, and it’s perfectly acted by everyone involved. Everyone was against Catherine Tate when she was announced as the companion as she’s best known as being a comedic sketch show actress. But she really proved to everyone how brilliant she could be in series 4. The scene with rose and Donna on the bench is beautiful, as is the music all throughout. So haunting. Also the fortune teller is the same lady who played ‘Chantho’ from series 3 episode 11, and now she’s in another episode 11
@frozenpiper25 жыл бұрын
I admit I wasn't thrilled but its because Donna was so annoying in Runaway Bride. She was better at the beginning of 4x01 but 4x03 when she was listening to the Ood sing is when I knew I was going to love her as the companion.

This is one of the very best "what if" stories I've ever seen. Definitely the best one-off, and second to the Framework arc in AoS. Catherine Tate was PHENOMENAL in this, and this story (and the season finale) really showcase her character growth and why she's my favorite companion.

What phenomenal writing and directing and that lead up with the music slowly kicking in, with the editing and close up shots to the "two words" reveal and then all the hidden warnings plastered in plane sight was one hell of a trip! Love it, one of my favourite moment of any tv show ever!
@AzguardMike3 жыл бұрын
thing is, theres other implications too. You gotta remember EVERYTHING Tennants Doctor had done. The Daleks would of taken Manhatten, going even further back the Karianites in The Shakespear Code would of ruled the world with rhymes.
@ahumanbeingfromtheearth15022 жыл бұрын
@@AzguardMike it's most likely that others intervened to take the doctors place on those stories, like how in this ep we see Sarah Jane was on the moon hospital in the doctors place but dies. Most likely other prevented the daleks and the karianites from winning, but I suspect that the version of those stories that took place in the turn left universe had significantly higher body counts that the versions we saw.
