In this video, I show you what it's like to drive a Honda Civic Si. I own a 2009 Civic Si, and I film a quick ride in my car! It has about 200 horsepower, and I go along some side streets, as well as on the highway. It is a fun car to drive because it has just enough horsepower to allow you to go wide open throttle without worrying about hitting insane speeds!

Ryan Cowtan well let me go straight forward , look like ur confused big time ! Say u have both of theses engines Brand new 0 miles on each of them,then u drive both of them for about 70000 miles,one u high rev close to 7k rpm all the time and the other one less than 3k rpm all the time during the 70000 miles!! Say that after u open up both of them for inspection, the one that was high rev all the time WILL HAVE MORE WEAR than the one that was never rev pass 3k rpm thats ALL IM SAYING! I hope u got it!

Ryan Cowtan man sorry to say but ur an idiot if u can't just admit that regardless if there's vtec or wat not,the more u push an engine the more wear,i do own a civic si 2013 at this present moment i do know about vtec.

I have been driving my 2008 civic si for 5 years now, bought it used for 17000$ CA, reached 180000km last week, I can hold up with so many other more expensive cars, or more recent ones, reving up to 8200 rpm is just so fun and exciting !! I've driven this car to his limit so many times, pushing very hard on the mechanic and haven't need to put any money at all since. This machine is unkillable and gives so much satisfaction when driving it !!!

I have trashed my wrx idea and i am going to look at a honda civic si tomorrow. might trade my 2007 mazda 6 for this beauty. Since you have had this for many years... would you have rather driven a SI swapped JDM B16a ? Vtec screams louder than these K series ... but of course the K series is a bigger motor giving it more HP. I've done so much research on Si's.. but it seems that for the price of that SI .. I'd be better off sticking with my B series and building off it.
@sendhelpbaylon

Manuel Lopez if you have the money for it get a k series swap. So much more potential and parts are a lot easier to find. B series would be my second choice for older civics. Can't go wrong either way.

V tech does not kick in when the engine is cold....? Please do explain how that is. Cause my understanding is it kicks in at a specific rpm I think its 4500 rpms or 5500 and you can rise or lower that with a programmed not off the temp of the motor and if it engaged or not.

If its an Si, just the engine is worth more.....I have a 2008 Si coupe in mint condition 102000 km i wouldn;t sell less then 15000-18000$.... so $4900 for an Si is a steal unless its all broken down obviously or no engine!!!
