The villa is amazing! Have a nice vacation! (the shutters for Europe, especially in Spain, aren't something wow ;) the benefits of these are very nice, privacy, temperature control -summer/winter-, safety. U should have them in the US too!)

They're pretty common in coastal areas in the USA. My beach house in the OBX has them on the back windows that face the ocean, they work the same way. Just aren't as hidden, outside you see the boxes they come out of. A lot of the newer houses are built with impact glass negating the need for shutters. But I prefer the shutters Imo.

In Caribbean countries we use shutters for protection. If you come to the Dominican Republic, you will see tons of shutters in all our apt buildings and houses.

Those have become very popular. The brand "Columbia" makes those long sleeve shirts for fishing or water sports. They're rated for 50 SPF so that you don't get sunburned.

lol, those are not "storm shutters", those are normal shutters and those won't do any cover during a storm, they will break apart pretty much.

Beautiful villa, personally I always stay in Barbados. My paranoid neighbor has shutters like that on his house, every window, door and garage door have them, makes no damn sense where we live to have them. You would be looking at Anguilla pronounced Ann-gwilla.
