Here's my experience that I've made on Tinder (and on bumble because I thought Tinder was broken): - Average looking guy, if the guy in the video is a 6/10, im probably a 4 or 5/10. Average body, going to university, average height. - used tinder and bumble for around 3 months - swiped around 3-4 times a week 100 times a day - probably around 40% likes - no tinder gold or any boosts - total amount of matches I got: 0. - total amount of people who liked my profile: 0. - What was i even trying to do? ffs Yea, no matches and no likes. No one even liked me by accident and I guess there was no bot or trolls liking me too. I've had some people help me edit my profile (guys & girls), i think my profile was okay. Just stay off tinder if you want to keep your self-esteem. Everytime you swipe, you could have done 1 push-up instead

Wow, that’s heartbreaking and I’m sure this can not be a true reflection of reality. As my mom always says “every pot has its lid”. I bet these sites have algorithms.. and if u weren’t paying for their services.. they prob hid your profile from potential matches to get u to pay. The whole point of these online social media platforms is to keep us at home, alone, engaging w/ their content - earning them money. I'm Asian Australian from Melbourne. I had tinder for years and literally did not get a single date out of it, and maybe 20 matches. I didnt use it much, but enough to know it was pretty pointless. Then when I travelled to South America and tried it for fun I was getting quite a few matches (I'd say I'm average looking). So there's that too. I remember in the old days of okc I had a rough 'rule' that for every 100 likes I'd get 10 matches, and of those maybe 1 date. So 1 in 100. If this dude is getting 3 dates from 16k thats wild. Thing is the apps have changed drastically since before COVID. Before 2019 it was pretty good, i'm not a bad looking guy and on Tinder I used to get about 7 or 8 matches a week with swiping once every 3 or 4 days, i'd miss out on quite a few women who swiped me as well as I wasn't interested. Bumble was much better, it'd be maybe 5-15 a week depending how active I was, but the quality was far higher than tinder and way more of them actually spoke, most Tinder matches never speak or can't manage more than one word replies. Since COVID started it's tanked, we are talking 1 match on Tinder every week or two and they are all incapable of speaking or holding a conversation, Bumble was still better at maybe 1 or 2 a week until i got banned for saying to a woman that i'm not putting pronouns in my profile as it's nonsense. Unfortunately i'm looking for a proper woman so i'm not putting anything that'll attract gold diggers to increase matches, it's futile. I was in 2 asian countries last year, one of them is an advanced country with people who don't actually want to leave. I used both apps in major cities and in smaller ones and the apps became almost unusable as every day it was 300+ likes and when you swiped pretty much anyone you swiped yes to was an instant match, problem is the conversations all got buried, in the poorer country many of them were using translator apps to speak to and actually didn't speak English so you'd meet and it would be awkward as hell. I think the problem is North America, Canada/USA where I live, something has changed here with online dating.

The thing that kept me on Tinder for a long time is that between 2014 - 2017 I had a really significant experience on Tinder, not only with more matches but also significant chats and dates, and my profile photos looked worse than today, my bio was worse, I was a worse conversation starter than today, and still I got good results! From 2017 on the experience nosedived noticeably and I could say the pandemic was coffin nails. My theory is that Tinder worked great for first adopters because of lower competition, and as the amount of guys increased exponentially, even above average guys got obliterated.

Tinder has changed a lot over the years, I remember using it back in the day like 2014 and actually getting some matches and it was completely free, no paid tier subs like it is now. The apps been completely changed into a revenue generating machine and nothing more, between the disgusting hidden algorithms to the grossly overpriced subs. Ive been on dating apps(before there/they were apps, there were websites) and it was a far better experience than it is now. Not gonna pretend i was dating left and right, but people actually made conversations. I went on a date every now and again. I can say for sure that dating apps are a type of cancer to society. I got on there because I had “been too busy” to find someone in real life. Truth be told, I was just afraid of what might become of myself if I really just trusted the idea of eventually meeting a good woman in real life. I think a lot of guys struggle with believing in such a thing, so they (like myself) try out the apps in hopes of finding her. What I can say is that I’m currently seeing someone off of upward, but tbh it goes back to “would I have approached her in real life if her and I were at a gathering of some sort?” And that for me is a sobering question to ask because I’ve always counted myself out of pursuing in real life. Reality is, that pursuing and dating someone can be challenging and trying on a person’s psyche any way we put it. One day you feel good enough, other days you don’t. I think the self reflection and focus can really be a game changer. I’ve since then given myself a break from the apps and sincerely have little intention of going back to them. I think also talking in real life if you match with someone should be an emphasis because if it doesn’t materialize the girl will most likely back out. And if you meet her in real life, she can’t swipe left to a real life conversation. She’d have to at least afford you the time of day, and hopefully, allow you (the average guy) to grow on her a little bit at a time. We’re not all Chris Hemsworth, nor are we Michael B. Jordan; we’re not supposed to be. Just be yourself and the right one will be there when the time is right. If not, you’d have to remember that that is why baby mamma’s are a real thing nowadays since they turn down the average middle man for the top guys. Top guys are no better than me or you. Yeah, I feel the "self-inflation" of attractiveness is definitely a big part. Even without makeup, it's a commonly known and well-researched phenomenon - people will tend to rate themselves higher than average (usually 7/10), even if they are perfectly average or under-average. If it makes you feel better though, parts of this video that are inherently misleading or straight-up wrong if you understand how human perception works. The subject is quite average in terms of looks. There's a lot of research done on this topic, but the fact is that if you think someone is "just above average" they are probably just average. And I don't think everything else is particularly impressive either - the only *real* strength he has is his tall height, and that is even offset by some of the other profile points that make him less approachable. No offense to your friend, but it seems like he is as average as can be (which is normal), so it is only to be expected that he isn't getting tons of girls on these dating apps. In an environment where there are many more girls than guys, it makes sense that girls are more "choosy" and your average male isn't getting many hits. It's simply logical - he's not as "good" as the video makes him out to be, and being perfectly average on a dating app usually doesn't cut it.

The best conclusion of this video is that it’s better to spend $30/month on a gym rather than Tinder. I used to be a bit overweight and started hitting gym hard about 12 years ago. What I noticed as I was slowly progressing (don’t let the speed discourage you!!!!) is that the women that I was drooling over previously, were not as attractive to me anymore because my own self-image was improving. I started to get compliments from those girls which seemed unrealistic before. But at that point I could reach higher level girls. And I have. And it’s the best feeling when you know you’ve accomplished this by yourself. Nothing else but determination and discipline. Guys, the best thing you can do to attract women is to work on yourself. No games or tricks will do the job long-term. Make it your life mission to become the best version of yourself. once i made a female account on a dating app. it was an experience. the rules were 1) never write first, 2) try to scare them away by being as nerdy/extreme as you can. i had over 20 people writing me in the first 24h and couldn't manage to scare most of them away (until i told them i was a guy - that worked well). i could pretty much write what i wanted, choose who i wanted and almost always got replies. another test was when i made a small experiment with a friend. we were testing response ratios for different first messages. we had "hey", "hey, how are you?", something personal that shows we read the profile, something funny, and something intellectual. the best one was "hey", closely followed by "hey, how are you?". the rest didnt work that well (but led to the more interesting conversations to be fair). though, most women i asked that used tinder told me they want to read something personal or interesting that shows effort. after those two experiences, i stopped using dating apps altogether.

We're both normal people, have great careers earning six figures each, children together, and now a home. I feel like nowadays we would have never matched based of how these apps work.
