I first hated Gawyn when he believed a peddler who he never met before that Rand killed both his mother and sister. Did not even consider that it was an unsubstantiated runor

don't care if RJ's papers didn't vindicate me, to this day I still think that peddler was supposed to be Padan Fain and he corrupted Gawyn against Rand. There's no other reason he wouldn't have given Rand any sort of benefit of the doubt after finding out his sister was alive.
