Wheel Stud Replacement On A Big Truck

#HarrygTV How I replace a broken wheel stud on a big truck. The right tool makes all the difference in a job well done! As simple as this repair can seem, I have seen such "hack jobs" of wheel hubs bent and scared by trying to pound them in or using a lug nut to pull them in. A "c" press makes this job go quick and easy! PS: The press can be used to remove the stud as well as install it. Enjoy the video! (for entertainment purposes only)

I always use anti seez it makes life alot better when working on your own truck

Is it recommend to use anti sieze on the studs? I thought you weren't supposed to do that....

You can follow the manufacturer's recommendations. In the "real world" we use anti-seize to stop rusting and galling. I have never seen a stud broken or damaged by using anti-seize in over 30 years. Most are damaged by gross over torque or failure to protect (via caps) or clean the threads. The one on this truck was damaged by a foreign object. Thanks for watching and commenting!

what is that silver in the stud?

I think you're asking about the anti-seize. It's a silver or copper colored, seizing and galling preventative lubricant that is usually painted on via a small brush.
