Nice set-up, is that on the front side or back side?

I will not, under any circumstance, mount my gun anywhere on my chair. I know it's convenient and all but it takes nothing to dump me out of the chair and separate me from it. I store lots of other things on my chair though. I've tried shoulder holsters, waist packs, and all of that stuff. I've concluded that appendix carry works the best for me. Positive control of the firearm, easy access, AND nicely concealed. The only drawback is that I need to carry a gun that fits my body. If the gun it too big it prints like crazy and pokes to far in to my crotch. I carry a HK P30SK in a kydex IWB holster. Works flawlessly. The glock 43 works well too but I'm not a big fan of striker fire.

i realize the video is 2 years old, but, NEVER put your gun ON your chair, if you get pushed out of your chair by some asshole, you are seperated from your gun

Well done man! I’m considering options for how to mount on both of my chairs (both a manual & a power). And of course, both have different considerations but I have no desire to drill into my chairs (like many seem to want to do from the start). Also, carrying it on my actual person is impractical for me based on my daily living activities & needs. This would definitely be the most practical & easy to reach solution for me in my manual & I think you did a great job making it. I also noticed that a lot of people are asking “what will you do if you get separated from your chair?” Well, in my case, I’d be pretty much be screwed if so & I’d simply be right where I would have been had I not been carrying at all anyway. So something is better than nothing. Not all chair users are the same nor do we have the same issues. Just like our lives, we have to adapt & go w/ what works for us specifically.

Nice work! Creative, simple, just right for you! Also your moulded MAGAZINE holder. I appreciate the Brownell's KZbin auto-forward for their frame-mount holster, too bad they discontinued the adapter but not the KZbin link. :-(

Logan White Thanks man! I actually made a new one with black leather and silver screws. I also had some engraving done on the leather, and it turned out great! I hope to make a video soon to show the updated version.

I don't mean to be a downer and I'm not running down your gear, but what happens if you're dumped out of your chair? For all intents and purposes, you're separated from your gun with no real hope of getting back to it. I'm also a wheelchair user, having earned my wheels after a fun filled year spent north of Baghdad. I carried all the time before my deployment. When I returned home in a sitting position I had to reassess my options. I used to carry a full size gun. I didn't see that as an option now. So I tried several different more compact designs before settling on what I use today. My next consideration was how to carry. I thought about something attached to my chair. I dismissed that after another wheelchair user, a true professional wheelchair trainer, asked me what I'd do if I were tossed from my chair. After trial and error, I decided on strong side carry at the 3:00 position. it offers me the best accessibility and concealment for my handgun. Even better, due to the positioning, I can conceal my gun without really concealing it. The chair back covers the gun quite well.

I completely understand your thought process, and that same thing went through my mind as I was debating where/ how I wanted to conceal my weapon. The reason I chose to go the route I did is because I was having issues with my holsters rubbing my skin raw and the gun getting caught on my clothing. Since I'm a T-4 para, I can't feel below my chest or where it was rubbing and didn't want to risk creating a sore. I personally like the holster I made because it is very easy to access, it's out of the way, it doesn't get bunched up in my clothing, and I don't have to worry about any sores. I do hate the thought that someone could knock me out of my chair and I would be disarmed, but the chances of that happening are very slim in my opinion. (Not saying it couldn't happen). I just think in most scenarios that I will still have easy access to my gun, minus the one you mentioned. This is what worked best for me and my situation, so I thought I would share with others that might be facing the same issues. Thanks for your feedback!

I'm a T-12 L-1 paraplegic and been trying to find a practical but adequate way to carry my concealed H&K P30 SK 9mm while in my wheelchair. I'm in Ohio and called my local sheriff who notified me that its legal for open carry here but they dont recommend it due to the duma$$es who will scream bloody murder at just the sight of a pistol.

Very nice! What did he have to say about it?
@tymz-r-achangin8 ай бұрын
@@jeremyedwards1053 Open carry was the only thing the sheriff personally knew to give as an option. He didnt have any experience with holster options concerning concealed carry for people in wheelchairs.
