Outstanding! When I studied in a Boston in the late 1980’s there was a grey example of the 2002 tii with round tail lights and I longed for it! I enjoyed thoroughly this program, because they managed to revive a classic and repair the heart of the fuel injection without having to resort to non OEM modifications!

There is alot more to setting up that fuel system than just bolting the pump on, there is a whole process to make it work properly, I've installed and setup a few of them. The timing is the easy part.

I had a 1976 BMW 2002 in the same color. Nimble and quick it was a joy to drive, especially on trips. The AC sucked. Traded it in on a 528i and that was a big mistake.

My mother had a 1973 2002 4-speed with A/C would always over heat. Sold that and bought a 1976 530i with a 4-speed. Learned how to drive on that car

For real! Best thing to do is get the heavy duty mounts from Ireland Engineering, I put polyurethane on mine and it solved the drivetrain wobble immediately.

Frank Barber I think the kugelfischer unit controls the injection timing not fuel pressure, there is a separate fuel pump

@@llamamanism the kugelfischer controls not only the timing of fuel delivery but also takes the lift pump pressure of around 30psi and increases it to around 250psi, thus creating a precisely timed finely atomized spray of fuel into the intake valve. that is the reason it delivered so much more power than carburetors while using less fuel. it also allowed for more agressive tuning without risking predetonation. its a fascinating system made even more impressive by the fact it was designed and used in the mid 50's on the mercedes 300sl.
