2 reasons why Luka doesn't dunk anymore 1. Is to avoid injuries since he experiences more leg injuries 2. He said himself he wanted to bully guys more in the post, so he bulked up, but it invertedly slowed him down and obviously gaining more weight made him less athletic and explosive

I feel Luka stopped the dunk fest and the aggresive attacks to the basket due to two main reasons: - It's far more probable to be met at the rim with a block due to the superior athletism of the NBA. - Foul baiting is much more rewarding on the NBA than on the Euro League. So what did Luka do? He plays through contact and sells the foul to convert a two point play into a potential three points, and manages his energy more on his 37 minutes instead of running and gunning through 26.

Usually not mentioned about Luka is, he thinks and moves like a veteran. His speed is also like a veteran, slow. He jumps like a veteran, short. But he still delivers. What does this means? Usually good players fades because they lose athleticism overtime. Luka on the otherhand already lose his athleticism in his early NBA years, but he's still getting better, and less prone to limb-injury. The most probable injury he may have is torso-related because of the way he drops on the floor and constant flopping.

@ginobili69742 ай бұрын
When talking about the size of the basketball court, the distance of the 3-point line should be taken into account, which is 50 cm shorter in Europe (6,75 m vs 7,24 m in NBA) and that makes the three-point zone ~11 m2 smaller. The same number of bodies in a smaller space, without the rule of defensive 3 seconds and with hand checking... and that's the difference. Of course, in Euroleague the players are less skilled than in the NBA, so that also affects fewer points scored. Of course, they also play fewer minutes per game.

It's all about experience and playing the game strategically, when he plays offense he plays it with the mindset of a defender, that's how he so often can read the defense and outplay it, on top of that he has great vision of the field and teammates positions, a multi threat on so many levels. Luka's worst enemy us himself though, he gets to emotional at times and loses focus.

That's a terrible idea both for him and for the fans of this channel. The NBA commentator space is highly competitive here on youtube. Mixing Euroleague content with his NBA content will drive away the majority of his fans who don't care for the Euroleague as they wont click those videos in their feed causing the YT algorithm to recommend the entire channel less to those fans. Meanwhile, anyone interested in the Euroleague and not the NBA won't want to subscribe either because they don't want the NBA content. Making a second channel is definitely the move as it will cater to both these audiences, and the select few who like both leagues can easily subscribe to both.

NBA is still the strongest league in the world, no question about it. But it ain't so much ahead as Americans like to think. It's simply different. Sport in the USA is supposed to be spectacle first, with superstars, towel waving at the sideline, egos and athleticism. It is fun, i give it that. But European basketball is so much more balanced, tactical, with stronger defense and stricter rules. I think every American basketball fan should watch at least a dozen of Euroleague matches, in order to see the difference and how one league can learn from another.
