Wow, another gem! I especially applaud the virtual pilots who flew the formation and combat maneuvers, and finally a tandem landing.

People are actually flying these aircraft? I thought it was CGI?
@TheLateBird7

It is CGI, but aircraft are individually piloted.

An extraordinary story and very well narrated! And you bring in the chatter between the crews in the language from which air forces they coming from! Awesome! And I don't know, that U. S. Pilots use the cut in pieces tactic with the prop same as here in Germany Luftwaffe Pilots from Kommando Elbe did to B-17 and B-24 Bombers. Great Story!! We all waitin' for more! Good Job, well done, guys!!

Thank you so much! Yes, I've heard a couple of stories of pilots using their propellers to destroy enemy aircraft (Marinos Mitralexis for one) but I didn't know of any Luftwaffe pilots who did the same - I'll look into that. Thanks again for the support!

Look for Kommando Elbe, a German Suicide Ramming unit in 1945

@@aviationdeepdiveLook for Kommando Elbe, a German Suicide Ramming Unit, the only one in March 1945 in the Luftwaffe. Or Luftwaffe Pilot Willi Reschke! He survived a propeller sizing and ram attack on an U. S. Bomber! His last word's before impact: ICH RAMME... ( I 'm Ramming now....). He was pilot of a FOCKE WULF 190 DORA and later on he was with the FOCKE WULF TA 152....

How do you get to point-blank range holding a steady course & not get taken out by the gunner?
@aviationdeepdive
@aviationdeepdive Жыл бұрын
That's a good question - Upon landing there were many bullet holes in the aircraft but no serious damage. Maybe the gun jammed, or maybe he was just an awful shot!

Check the story of Wing Commander Marinos Mitralexis!

I'm very familiar with the story of Mitralexis! I'd absolutely love to cover his story, but the aircraft he was flying (The P.24) is unfortunately not in War Thunder (what I use for the visuals). If it's added, that'll be the first vide I make

@raydesmond6712
@raydesmond6712 Жыл бұрын
@@MrBucidart 40,000 ft, or roughly 10km, is a very normal altitude for high altitude recon planes and bomber raids, and B17s and their escorts, and high altitude recon missions would often be flown at this altitude. If you take even a couple minutes to do research on the story, all of the sources confirm this altitude...
