As a paramedic who has helped many a nurse and doctor insert a hose of varying sizes for a variety of reasons, I can attest this is true. It is never, EVER, a good thing when a healthcare provider walks toward you with a hose.

Had this happen to me once when I were 6 years old. I tried to get to the bathroom but was constantly being pushed out of the way by my sisters. After the day was mostly over I couldn't go, nothing would come out and had severe stomach pain. I was taken to hospital got my blood drawn despite telling them what was wrong. 3 hours later I were taken to children's and the doc there knew just by looking at me what was wrong. Five minutes later it was like Niagara Falls.
