I am a young man that is far below 6 foot tall and I think we view his response completely wrong. Putting all women under an umbrella of being attracted to the same attributes is nonsensical. I'm sure alot of women are attracted to attributes like height and wealth, it doesn't mean there aren't alot of women who value character over those things. She wasn't being wishful, she was telling the truth. A partner who puts things like money and height above being respectful and kind is concerning. I think alot of women in low income environments are raised to cater to the highest bidder in a sense, in an effort to make a better life for themselves. Not too long ago this wasnt really seen as uncommon or exploitative. I also see alot of women who have just lost fsith that these kinds of men exist. Who wholeheartedly believe that men are rude and disrespectful as a prerequisite, based off of the interactions they have. The only thing i think that people dont tend to cover when talking about the ideal partner, is that women also have to put effort into making it work. Love requires struggle, effort, contribution and compromise on both sides. The narrative surrounding men i feel is often too one sided for thsi to be understood. Its not a man and his woman, yall are supposed to be a team. A man should create space for women to feel safe and loved, women should also be Mindful of men and how they are feeling to ensure that they also feel safe and Loved. There is little conversation regarding this and my mother definitely never told me any of that. I had to grow up and change myself and figure it out.
