If this video seems incomplete, that's because it is. Because of copyright I had to trim about 30% of this entire video just to be able to keep it up. If you'd like to see it in its original form, check out my patreon. All videos are posted there for free :)

2:48 they drew a city block and made it move.... No cg fully hand drawn and EXTREMELY detailed. How is that even possible!!

Animation is crazy
@stavborochov167311 ай бұрын
The ironic thing is, there was a statement by one of the animators where he said they weren't given the time to finish the episode by the studio. It looks this good while being around 30 percent finished, which is such a slap in the face to the animators I can't just watch the episode without thinking about jt
@itapproaches348411 ай бұрын
That was kind of an incorrect way of putting it, they stated that 30% of their *AMBITION* was completed, not the episode itself, the epidode was more like 70% complete

true, made a point to mention that because that stat definitely got misconstrued.

I know we are talking about art but without the creator of the anime this shot would have never be seen so shout out to Gege Akutami very great job.

Mappa needs to give its animators at least another year per show. Fewer hours for its employees spread over a longer time so they don't get overworked. Please

I really hope so, especially with how massive and well known the production issues are now. They also need a pay raise, only getting 1/4th the standard rate of pay is insane.

Man I like your video a lot I really liked season2 animation hoped animator got more time I mean I heard that ep 17 was only 30 percent done but was the best action chaos episode I saw in my whole life

This was a wonderful video. Your breakdown of the animations and commendations to the animators was extremely pleasant to hear. Animators and artists are prideful people, even if the masses agree that it looks breathtaking; the creator of that frame will always be thinking and dreading what could have been done better. Its a curse done on those who are skilled and I truly sympathise with the animators foe creating a masterpiece of a series even if it was not their entire vision. However the only gripe about this video I had was your use of interpolated scenes. I personally, aswell as many in the animation industry bear a heavy distain for interpolation but i do inderstand its hard to find a scene from any anime that hasnt been upscaled to 60fps. Perhaps that in the future, you could try and find footage of uninterpolated footage such as the animators intended. To avoid copyright maybe add a boarder to your videos or something like that. Overall great video man, earned my subscription!

This is fair and actually super insightful. In the future I will 100% try my best to keep the animators original content on screen. Thank you!

I think another important point is the fact that the producers didn’t just get industry leading animators, but industry leading directors to work on and animate for this episode. All that talent being brought in only to get treated like garbage is something that makes me appalled.

It's really incredible how Mappa can so consistently disappoint with their terrible business practices.
@Papameme-rg3ig11 ай бұрын
@@MisterzzYT well said. No “passion project” they’ve put out has been able to see the entire extent of its ambition fully realized with the exception being the AOT specials. They burn bridge after bridge with producers, directors, animators, and they think this business model will let them reach the status of KyoAni. Disgusting.
