That's no panic. BBC was handling beatles riots and punks assaults on live TV before RATM lads were even born. xD They're very used to play with fire, and definitely expected them to swear (as the speaker mentionned) It's cool english TV, and they hear and see much worse on a weekly basis. It's just common manners to let it happen for a few seconds, and then cut it to avoid most of the bigots' lawsuits. They CREATED tabloids, reality TV and juicy mediatic scandals to make fortunes. I think they might have been more panicked that RATM DIDN'T start swearing straight away. A producer must have been like "we fucking invited them and gave them a live performance, and try to shush them in a paternalistic way to get them hot-headed, what are they waiting for ?!
