I was going to try and catch the show, but that was certainly the change of mind and heart I had toward seeing their show and, ultimately, the band as a whole. I’m guessing Tom Morello was staunch on the vaccine mandate, but for the group to reunite and in agreement of such an establishment measure, makes it more the worse. It saddens me when the most vocal and revolutionary bands of my generation, compromised their integrity and message, to join the dark side pretending to be light. RIP Rage Against the Machine, I wish I never had to feel this way or believe it was a frontline con by such an an influential band and amazing talent.

Which guys are you referring to? The argument that all the shutdowns and mandates was about public health is a lie. It was about control, period. The science was known at the very beginning that the virus was only dangerous to the elderly and to those with comorbidities, and they knew that the vaccines didn't prevent transmission of the virus. Yet, they shut down schools, bankrupted small businesses, arrested people, fined people, mandated masks and vaccines, and ran a massive censorship campaign on social media outlets under the guise of public health even though it all went against the science. That's the literal definition of the machine, and RATM was, and still is supporting the machine. The irony is not lost on those who see it for what it is.

Jim Root has a good point here. Do not sing one thing one minute and then go sing another completely different and then opposite thing the next at least not without giving your audience a clue or clues as to what you are doing and especially where you are going with the new take on the subject. It is also okay to drop songs that a band no longer stands behind as well too even if it is just for the sake of continuity so you do not lose your audience. I too like to go to shows just really simply to be entertained. It's why it's called entertainment by the way too.

Anyone know what rage said/did that Jim is referencing?
@luciliusfm2 жыл бұрын
he was referring to infamous end of Killing In The Name of. Jim’s grossly tying the very rebellious nature of that line with the fact that Rage encourages and approves vaccines and masks. Their views have not changed and still have very left and socialist values. Following through on medical advice that is made so people can be safe and not get sick does not change being opposed to fascist tyrants in the republican and democratic partys

I just find it funny that most of the comments I'm reading here are criticizing a band for speaking their minds. Just because you don't feel the same, or believe as they do, does not give you a free pass to slam them. Dissenting discourse is a good thing. It keeps the world in check. However, that completely breaks down when it breaks down into insults or flat out questioning someone else's integrity. To be clear, this is NOT about what was said in that interview. It IS about the comments I'm seeing here. Just because you don't agree with someone does not mean you have to disagree disrespectfully.
@ejsinner15202 жыл бұрын
“Does not give you a free pass to slam them.” Actually it does. It’s someone’s opinion backed by freedom of speech. The same way you are criticizing those with whom you disagree with in this comment section…”You speak of freedom yet condemn those who speak freely.”- me😂
@undrpaidtekmnky1432 жыл бұрын
@@ejsinner1520 the criticism was included as a point of irony. As to your comment about it giving people the right...ok, fair enough, however, you do see the added irony there, right? Seriously, we're getting into meta-critisisms here lol Critisizing the criticism of the criticism....kind of makes your head spin a bit. Anyway, the main point that was being made is respectful discourse is one thing. Not everybody is going to agree on everything. It's when people start questioning a person's integrity because they disagree that it crosses a line. I personally(obviously) disagree with your comment(though I will not even for a second claim you don't bring up a valid point). That doesn't mean that things can't be kept respectful in that disagreement.

Government Rock sounds about right. If memory serves there's an article about how much The rage against the machine tickets were for their first tour in like forever. I think like the cheapest one they had was $150. They definitely love themselves some capitalism despite being anti-capitalist and well kind of honestly american. I guess money does have value to even the most anti-capitalist bands and people in the world.
