11:28 If the truck driver "had no reason to react this way," didn't you also nave *no reason* to ride the way your group was riding, too? Going excessively fast (& slow), riding in the median, doing wheelies on public roads at speed, illegal passes over double-yellow lines (with traffic, no less), et al. We ALL make choices on how safe we're willing to keep the roads every single time we drive or ride, know what I mean?

At 14:19 the Statement that filtering is allowed in "most" States is patently false. Cali allows it, and it's NOT explicitly forbidden in Utah, but those are it. Some States are considering it, but only a few, so that statement is VERY misleading. Don't trust those kind of broad claims, check your local laws first.

That clip at 9:47 is ridiculous! You really think that getting into that kind of situation with a truck that size is the truck's fault? A truck that size has more blind spots than you think. So in regards to the cyclist he can either be right, or he could be alive.

I never understand these videos of bikers blocking an entire road to do wheelies and slow down traffic then act in rage when someone finally has enough and passes them because they have a job to do or place to go. Theres hundreds of miles of open roads where you don't screw with people and you can take videos to your hearts content ffs.

I really think there should be a special mental health test for a motorcycle license, especially here in the States. It is NOT a hobby for the weak-minded, I promise, but we keep seeing examples of it regardless (AngryD's clips, for example), including ending in tragedy. Stay calm, stay safe, & drive defensively *especially* when riding.

Threatening to pull someone out and smack their face is a big promise to make. Could get your nose remodeled or even earn you a face full of pepper spray. Some of you need to calm down and learn to accept an apology. You're no closer to perfect than anyone else.

On the first one, I can see why the guy was annoyed, the guy on the bike nipped in before the car driver had chance to even put his car into reverse. I am not sure but I think that the parking space on the right was for motorbikes or a collection point.

Gotta love the biker saying he has it all on camera and that it wasn't necessary...I wonder how the tap to the mirror would look to the police? I'm pretty sure filtering into an intersection is not allowed...just like changing lanes is not. Biker has a big ego

14:20 It is not true that most US states allow filtering or splitting. California and Utah are the only states where splitting is legal. Filtering is legal in Arizona, Hawaii, and Montana. A handful of other states have no law for or against, but it is expressly illegal in most states. However, even if it is illegal, some big cities will not really enforce the law, New York City for example. AngryD was passing illegally for Texas. In the greatest and best state of California, it's illegal for a driver to intentionally block a passing motorcycle, so that driver would have committed a fineable offense.

@spikesmth
@spikesmth Жыл бұрын
@@stuff4181 Ah, I misinterpreted Utah's law. They allow filtering but not splitting. So, CA is the only state to allow splitting, 4 other states allow filtering, and it's generally considered illegal everywhere else, with some states not having an explicit law about it.

@@Xwii610 Why not provide the other states you believe allow lane splitting/filtering? Five other states are trying but have not yet succeeded. California - California was one of the first states to embrace lane-splitting even before it was legalized; motorists and motorcyclists respected the practice for years. In 2016, it was declared legal across the state. California is the only state in America to make lane splitting legal officially. Assembly Bill No. 51. Arizona - Lawmakers in Arizona first attempted to legalize lane splitting with Senate Bill 1007, but it failed to pass. At the beginning of 2020, however, Representative Noel Campbell introduced House Bill 2285 that aims to restart talks about legalizing lane splitting in Arizona. Discussions are still underway, but people expect this motion to pass this time. AZ SB1007 | 2020 | Fifty-fourth Legislature 2nd Regular. Connecticut - Senate Bill 629 was recently introduced in Connecticut, and lawmakers are currently discussing legalizing lane splitting and filtering. The bill has been referred to the Committee on Transportation, but there hasn’t been any news since proposed. S.B. No. 629. Session Year 2019. Utah - In March 2019, Utah followed California’s example by becoming the second state to legalize filtering formally. Although it’s not as permissive as lane splitting, lane filtering can help motorcyclists avoid being tailgated when on the road. Utah lane filtering guidelines. Oregon - House Bill 2314, a proposition to make lane splitting legal, has been introduced to the Speaker’s desk and is currently in discussion. If the bill passes, motorcyclists will be allowed to travel between cars on roadways with speed limits of 50 mph or more and traffic moving at 10 mph or slower. Washington - In 2015, Washington introduced a bill to legalize lane splitting, which did not pass. Then, four years later, lawmakers reintroduced Senate Bill 5254, which was left hanging for discussion. On January 13, 2020, the same Senate Bill was reintroduced and is still pending approval. Virginia - At the beginning of the year, Representative Tony Wilt introduced House Bill 1236 to amend the Code of Virginia, this allowing land splitting in the state. This bill has already been referred to the Committee on Transportation and awaiting approval. *edited to add the 5 states info

Your initial comment stated "filtering". Filtering and lane splitting aren't the same. Filtering means going in between stopped cars at a light or heave traffic. Splitting means the cars are moving. Filtering is legal in Cali, Arizona, Utah, and Hawaii allows for bikes to ride on the shoulder. Maybe you should learn the difference before you spread more lies.
@LuvMyTJ
@LuvMyTJ Жыл бұрын
@@Xwii610 No need to get upset. Just to clarify... "filtering" and "lane splitting" is one and the same. California is the ONLY state to allow it while traffic is moving. Also, you are correct, AZ did legalize it a few months ago, I was not aware it had finally passed 😎👍. Utah and Arizona only allow it if the traffic is stopped, the road is posted at 45mph or less and you must stay under 15mph. Hawaii I was aware that hey tolerate it but it is not law so I didn't mention it. Either way, my post was correct and not a lie as I said, "most states do not allow splitting/filtering". Three out of fifty is not "a lot" of states no matter how you slice it. Ride safe!
