You are a genuine person. You are always worth forgiveness. Always loved, girl interrupted. I'm glad I found your channel. No one should cut you out of their lives. That was bipolar disorder not the real beautiful person you are

What if they are saying dangerous things, like they want to kill you for being on "their side?" And, refuses to ever take meds.

I respect you for apologizing to your siblings, my older sister is diagnosed with bipolar and she used to constantly abuse me when I was a defenseless boy (she was ten years older and twice the size of me). Our parents never pulled her off me or got her any real help at the time and she's never apologized, so to be honest, I struggle to forgive all of them. Thanks for sharing this...

That's okay forgiveness takes time. Your feelings are valid. She might not understand or remember how much she hurt you. If she was just recently diagnosed maybe she has to forgive herself before she asks anyone else to forgive her. And some people just really struggle to apologize. Whatever it is mental illness is hard on families and can really hurt. I'm sorry, I hope she comes around eventually.

@@BipolarPerson You're right, she didn't get diagnosed until she had her first major episode at 38 and she'll be 55 this year.

Well, this video came at just the right time! Lol. I just had a big blow-up with my folks yesterday. Long story short, something came up in an argument between my dad and me where he was angry at me for something that happened while I was in mania and psychosis. I told him that I was in mania and wasn't in control of what I was doing. He said something to the effect of "Yeah, it was bad. And we're all paying for it!" And he wasn't talking about money. It hit me pretty hard in the feelers. It was kinda like he was so mad that he said what he really felt on the inside. Which I feel awful for. I wish he understood better, but just like you said, some people just don't want to hear it. And it REALLY sucks for me cuz my family is, like, my main support right now cuz they're the only ones who really know what's going on aside from my doctors. Thanks so much for letting me know I'm not alone. It really helps a lot. Hopefully, in time my dad will understand in his own way. Hope you have a great one! Keep going! You rock! 🤘

Just heard of a disturbing case here in my country of a mother who was killed by her mentally ill son. Yes, you're right ppl are not willing and don't have the time with their busy lives to take the time to educate themselves. It's only maybe when it hits home that some begin to take stock and look for answers. Be encouraged Steph, you're doing your part well for those of us who want to know 👏

Yes, I’ve had issues with psychosis both out of body and while in a mantic episode, not sure if that was meant by features. Anyway, my entire family has disowned me most recently, my own father. So I can relate.

Hey Steph. This totally hits home. One of my biggest struggles is the acceptance that it comes with bipolar disorder. This hurt damaged relationships. I dig myself a hole feeling bad for what I’ve said or done. Any advice on how you’ve come to terms?

I just remind myself it's not my fault. The guilt used to be overwhelming but in group counseling one of the counselors said "that's not fair it's not your fault you were in psychosis." That statement changed my life. As far as the daily symptoms angry outburts and missing things because of depression, I just remind myself that I am human and have emotional experiences that people without Bipolar do not. Taking my medication and seeing how it has helped my rage has just shown me how easier it is for people without bipolar. Just be kind to yourself and remind yourself those moments are symptoms. ❤️
