When John Cena Held the WWE Championship for Over a Year

FINALLY! It took 2 and a half months to make but it's here. Additional note, Triple H was supposed to challenge Cena for the title at WM 23 but he got injured. I like the title reign due to the high quality matches Cena had, most of the stories were interesting and it's a damn shame that there was never an actual conclusion. Promos and interactions were so damn entertaining and the title run solidified the fact that Cena was THE MAN. I mean he even had a damn 97 overall in SVR 2008. The only problem with this title reign is this. Cena held the title from April of 2005 to January 2006 then from January 2006 to June. He literally held the title for over a year. Then he was title less from June to September then won the title and kept it for officially over a year, that's the only problem. He basically had two year long title reigns.

You don't have like Cena but it is a fact that he is one of the most solid champions ever. He started on Smackdown as a young rookie and the rest was history. He got his ass kicked, he bled ppv after ppv, he suffered the big injuries, he has competed in just about every type of match in WWE, he is versatile move wise and character wise, he fought the top, toughest superstars to win and retain championships. John Cena will be a Hall Of Fame legend.

I remember I started watching WWE in 07 after WrestleMania 23 was advertised, and up until he got injured Cena never lost a PPV. Dude was unstoppable, and at the time giving him a 97 rating in SvR 2008 made sense. He's still my favorite superstar, and this title reign was absolutely crazy. He was sweeping anyone he faced

This is the first WWE Champ I ever started watching live. I started watching wrestling in late 2006 (I was 9 years old), and Cena was already champ. I think they were building up to Cyber Sunday when I first started watching. I was so convinced that he would never lose the belt too because he always kept winning. I think him going to raw in 2005 was a really bad idea. He should of been wwe champion on Smackdown for a little while maybe to 2006 or 2007. Raw and smackdown had different audiences back then and Cena was more accepted then he up and left.
