@VoidTheProtogen110 күн бұрын
You cant fault the officer for the way he responded to being set ON FIRE! Yes LEO's are trained on what to do in situations like that but training is VASTLY different from a real world event and how you THINK you might react will be VERY different from how you ACTUALLY act but since you want to shit on the officer for panicking while he's burning you should record an unedited video where someone set you on fire so we can see how you react and judge you. As for the other officers they told him to do what he was trained to which is roll to smother the flames, police officers are NOT fire fighters and do not carry equipment for dealing with fires and instead radio fires into the dispatcher where the fire department and paramedics are sent out to the scene to handle it, most LEOs have BASIC medical kits in their vehicles, similar to the first aide kit you might have in your car, enough to bandage a few cuts or maybe treat a minor burn

As a railroader, we have absolutely ZERO sympathy for people who get hit by trains other than children. You wouldnt walk down an airport runway would you? Then why walk on our property, which is trespassing? Every single day we have to deal with people walking on the tracks, running around the gates and blowing the crossings. So when I say we dont care, we really dont. We even have a term we use "dont dump till you feel the thump". Dumping it is what we call initiating an emergency stop "slamming on the brakes", because if we dump it, per rules we have to walk our entire train and do an inspection of it. So the cold hearted reality is, we would much rather risk hitting you, than have to walk 4+ miles. So the next time you wanna run a crossing or whatever, remember, that train crew doesnt give a fuck about you. Theyre tired, running on no sleep, have been screwed all day/night long with BS work, and unless theyre going slow enough that they can stop without having to dump it, theyre just gonna keep going. Stay off the damn tracks.
@Spork-kz4nu8 күн бұрын
To be fair, the officer was trying to make sure the guy wasn’t tryna dupe him and cross before the train came, the wind probably pulled him closer for when he was hit, it happens all the time with trucks on highways i would be surprised if it was similar
@barbjhix8 күн бұрын
Honestly, I agree with you. I was raised to be cautious as train tracks. It could have been that one uncle that I never met. Dead drunk at the train tracks, having been cut in half by the train. Trains and alcohol just don't mix. I know you don't ever get for the job you do. I'm not going to lie and say I know exactly what you do other than to drive the train. But you'd have no idea what I would do with my job if I told you I was a government accountant.. fair enough? So, thank you for hauling goods around America for us, I know it's a hard thankless job but you are appreciated. I think you might find this kind of funny. You mentioned that people wouldn't walk down an airport runway.... Well, actually they do. I was an accountant before I retired and I love research. Since 2012 they've had over 11,000 what they call incursions onto airport runway, all around the world. That averages out to over 2,000 incursions onto airport runways per year. See, stupid people are all over the place making trouble and trying to kill themselves. All types of nasty ways set a big old jumbo jet to kill you...... And then kill all the crew and passengers on the flight if the incursion interferes with the plane. There is no data on plane crashes caused by incursions on the to the runway because the NTSB did not place "airplane crashes caused by incursions on to airplane runways" to their list of probable causes until April of 2024 H 0:03 hopefully take a little bit of the pissed off all of us idiots. All the kids that I hung out with in high school of which three were my girl cousins, did receive a proper Southern upbringing... And had train track etiquette drilled into us The cousins, me being part of that, always insisted and nagged until everybody pulled their vehicles well away from the tracks. All we did let's put some pennies on the tracks, go sit on the hoods of our vehicles and make out, while we waited for the train come smash our pennies. Anybody going in for a closer look or get attacked by us for cousins......... Come to think of it, us cousins did a lot of policing of those idiots.... Next reunion I guess.

As a foamer, I feel bad for the family and I pay my respects of course, but the saying “play stupid games and win stupid prizes” comes to mind. is time to stop it, the dog fault is not the owner fault, there are many professionals with high skills and these kind of dogs still lost the control, but people are unethical and dishonest enough to blame the person instead the real cause, the owner is ALWAYS the innocent except if the owner give the command to dog attack. dogs are damaged wolves, in the end, they are the wrong thing there.
@SorrowAvenue2 күн бұрын
@arahok7675 This has got to be the dumbest comment I have read in YEARS. If you own a dog, their actions are YOUR responsibility as a owner. It is YOUR job to train it properly and to ensure it's disciplined. If you cannot do that, you should not own a dog. Additionally, if you were advised to ethanise it and chose not to, you're at fault for not doing something that could have prevented the injuries. The dog is an animal. You are a person with financial and legal obligations. If your dog injuries people, YOU are going to jail not the dog.

Yeah, just being next to a car with fentanyl in it is not going to cause an OD. You also don't just drop like that-it takes time for it to cross the blood brain barrier. Maybe if you vaporize a massively lethal dose and take a big hit of it, but clearly that's not what was going on. Definitely some kind of medical issue, maybe low blood pressure or something (I passed out like that once due to low blood pressure before when I was younger). the crash wasn’t even their fault they had their siren and lights on and the car turned right in front of them
@Asmobia10 күн бұрын
@@c--money9188 Yes, you are correct. When we hear the siren, we should stop, and then give the road. If a person who can't hear the siren, she/he shouldn't drive. It is clearly not the police's fault.
@ZZMonkeysUncleZZ10 күн бұрын
Except I’m pretty sure they were found not at fault and cleared. Rightfully so, as the whole point of the lights and sirens is to tell people to clear off to the side. The driver chose to ignore that and turn IN FRONT of the police.
@jeroen361810 күн бұрын
@@c--money9188it’s not always that simple. At those speeds you don’t always have much time to react. Personally I believe the cops took an unnecessary risk by taking that route. They could passed him the other side. Whenever I came across cops in my country (the Netherlands) they will also slow down a bit at crossings, making sure that even if some failed to spot them they wouldn’t cause a crash. This just felt reckless. Hope the guy is going to be okay, because he didn’t look like he was in good shape.
@ZEGO24x10 күн бұрын
@@c--money9188 What a crock of shit! Look at the excess speed, and how far back the cop was when the car started making its turn, stopping to see if any oncoming traffic was coming - and it wasn't. The cop was in the wrong lane, and therefore needs to accept accountability.

He is. I saw an interview with the victim's lawyer about 6 months ago. He was still undergoing surgeries and physical therapy to try and correct scar tissue and has probably another year to go before he is really finished recovery and they have the final damages. The city is already looking at over 10 million just to cover his medical bills, and it wouldn't surprise me if he got another 5+. The civil suit is basically a slam dunk now that there is a criminal negligence conviction.

Extreme tunnel vision, dude needs more training. Don't get me wrong it happens to everyone to some degree when your adrenaline is up. You really can not notice someone screaming in your ear a couple inches a way, so I can maybe see tuning out the train horn. But not noticing the vibration of a train rolling up is something else.
