To be fair, they were both born after the believed death of Jesus, but the fact that a peasant such a Jesus was even mentioned is evidence of his existence, not to mention testimonies from numerous contemporary Christians. Also, cults generally start with a charismatic figure who is worshiped as the prophet. Since Christianity was practically a cult around that time period, it's a fair assumption that Jesus was the basis for said cult. If you have any points to the contrary, please let me know. The mocking from unbelievers towards christians is the seal of approval. Satan is mentioned over 160 times in the New Testament. Satan as an evil entity started to develop during the Macabee rule, just prior to Christianity. The majority of the Hebrew bible considered Sheol to be the permanent abode of the dead where both righteous and wicked went. The satan wasn't considered an evil entity but an adversary and messenger of God who didn't act without God's permission. The story of Job is a good example.

Usually this disbelief is caused by a lack of demonstrable evidence for the claim that a god exists. So the crux of the issue is that it is wiser to believe something is true only after it is demonstrated to be true, not before. Faith by definition is the belief in something without evidence. What claim does atheism make? None. Atheism is the disbelief in the claims of others. So to not have faith in atheism which is a position based on testable evidence, you know, the thing that faith can't provide is ridiculous. Ask yourself, if you had evidence for anything why not just show the evidence for review and testing? Faith wouldn't be needed. The fact that you use faith to validate your claims speaks to how poor your and Frank's arguments are. But I am always glad to change my mind if credible evidence is presented for any claim. @Cave Man Of course I did. Released in 2004 and authored by Frank Turek and Norman Geisler their book claims that Christianity is the most reasonable position to be had. More so than atheism. Except their claims are not backed up by demonstrable evidence. They claim the universe is designed, but they haven't demonstrated it. They claim an after life exists, but they haven't demonstrated it. They claim spirits and souls exists, but they haven't demonstrated them. Atheism on the other hand is only the disbelief in gods. Usually due to a lack of credible evidence. So to say your magical god which you have yet to demonstrate exists is more rational than my disbelief in your magical unverified god is ridiculous. If you could demonstrate your god exists then that would be a different story.

Abel, Did you notice in this passage it was the Jews, the Sanhedrin that had Peter and the apostles flogged then released, not the Romans. There's no scriptural evidence for the apostles being martyred. There was some Christian persecution by the Romans but not for the reason most Christians think. I hope my story comforts whoever reads this. I have a friend who is mildly autistic, and it’s important to note this because he himself said that people with his condition only see in black & white, right or wrong, yes or no. Nothing in between. For years, he mocked my faith and had suicidal thoughts. I persisted through those years and prayed for him so many times to change. One day, he had “one of the worst days” of his life, so much so he wanted to kill himself then and there. He actually prayed and asked God “If there’s a God out there, please show me a sign.” The day after that, he said it was one of his greatest days in his life & without a single suicidal thought since in he doesn’t know how long. Now, even though he hasn’t really converted, he actually takes God unto consideration and is happier more than ever in his life (and has stopped mocking God, specifically, the God of the Bible). So, moral of the story, don’t give up on anyone. Have stubborn faith and eventually they may come closer to Christ.

that was very encouraging, honestly. Living in Asian country having most of friend and families against my belief, I get so tired and feel helpless often. Though I realize that through everyday struggle with my family especially, God taught me so much about himself and myself. Clinging to his grace and love, I'm able to maintain and survive. They go against it, like at the time where Moses freed the Israelites from slavery (historically innacurate but you will see the principles). That's partly just because of where people reside. If I recall correctly, only about 7 percent of the worlds population is Atheist / Agnostic. And when you remove the Agnostics from that percentage, Atheism amounts to a mere 2 percent of the world's population. (I may be slightly off on the numbers, since I haven't thoroughly checked up on this for at least a year, but I know I can't be VERY far off.)

@@ThomB50 i go through these argument with atheist all the time. moral argument - prove your god exist before we can say morals come from God or morality is subjective even from your God teleological argument - if nature was designed then it wouldn't be natural because we distinguish design from something that hasn't come about by natural causes . the Kalam Cosmological argument, the Aristotelian argument - god of the gaps fallacy. there are problems with each of these when taken individually but when put together as a whole they stand their ground but each one of these has something that doesn't quite hold up or their wouldn't be no questioning it

If your asking can I show I'm not some brain in a jar and our reality is just a hyper realistic simulation then no I can't. My evidence is constrained by the limitations of reality. If your asking can I demonstrate my body in this universe exists as we currently are capable of perceiving and demonstrating it? Then yes. I can demonstrate the process of mitosis is active in my body which is directly fueled by the nutrients I ingest. I can show the synapsis between my neurons is functional. My nervous system is active, my digestive system is working, and my skeletal structure is functional. So with that demonstration I can show my body and my mind which is linked to that body exists. I can show the DNA of my cells and the atomic make up of those cells as they are relative to other life forms on the planet. From that to other fields such as astronomy and geology we can demonstrate the existence of the universe and its many aspects. I know your trying to bait me with a you can't know for 100% that you exist therefore you can't know for 100% god doesn't exist or some variation thereof. But regardless if you have demonstrable evidence to show your god exists then by all means present it.

I was christened as a Protestant (CoE) but I want to become Orthodox because I find it to incredibly beautiful and I want to be closer to the Father. Many people believe that they have or are receiving the word of God in some manner. It might be a feeling or they might see what is perceived as signs of God's communication during their day. Some of these people want to do the work of God, at least they believe it is the work of God. Usually this means giving religious advice in some manner. For some it involves confrontation of what are believed to be sinners, and in its most extreme form, this can be tragic. But no one should be single out and ridiculed for doing no more than stating a religious belief especially if it is said in a kind or helpful manner.

I’ve prayed in my office when I thought I was alone & I listened to sermons & now sadly it seems like someone at my job mocks me. I believe they are entertained by it….I’ll never understand disliking someone so much that a person would be consumed & driven to hurt them…that enjoy seeing that person upset day after day…knowing they go home feeling defeated…..gives off ugly mean girl vibes bc most men don’t bother with petty…..

The bible says that the people of god was constantly persecuted. So whenever someone mocks a Christian they think it's a prophecy being fulfilled.

@Mandy self-fulfilling prophecy... like you said, no big deal that the Christian get exactly what they look for in order to justify their belief. But that isn't' a great proof that prophecies are becoming truth, isn't it?

@@JR-nh7fc it still is a Prophecy in that sense that is actually fullfilled by the numbers we see of chrsitians getting killed Jesus could have also been wrong and christianity would have never been persecuted at all like lets say some folk religions

As believers, we are instructed to have no fellowship with the unGodly. We dont hang out with them. We have to alwaus be on our guard the TOTAL armour of God. We arent friends with them but we can love them. Find out what love is. Its not always fellowship. He needs to grow up and man up. Find out. He needs to be liked so bad. That weakness is what Satan will use to try to destroy him and others

The message is to be strong and pray for others who do not know Jesus. It is to spread the truth. We should not step away from these ppl as we need to step up and help them understand the truth.

@@wisespidey thats the misconception and unbiblical. It leads to drama and gets us tangled up in things we shouldnt be tangled up in.we cannot help them understand the truth. That is Gods job. God is the one who draws them in. One plants, one waters, etc. We are a light thru how we live. Then they seek US out. We tell them about God and point them in the right direction. We need to stop trying to make Gods word fit into how we want to operate. It doesnt work. Thats why theres so many false converts. Follow Christ/the word of God-not do things the way the world does.

@@danbrenenstahl6591 Christ was a friend to His followers. We all are sinners. But He didnt fellowship with the unrighteous. Those seeking Christ sought Him out. The misconception is that He sought them out and it was the other way around. Few notice that He kept it moving and hung out with His church members (disciples). Even though he intetacted with unbelievers, it was brief.

@@ertfgghhhh As Christian's we should not take christianity to be a religion, if you do that then you are right but according to my faith it is a journey that we go through. That's why disciples preach even though they get mocked and beaten up in all bad ways, they still have the gift of getting back up and that is remarkable, that is the fruit of your faith. God will shower his blessing, because he uses us as instruments to help the fallen . Dr. Frank did say if you did your job of convincing and even if they are not convinced the seed that you sowed into their hearts will grow. And always pray for them , preaching to them is an act of love.
