You see I already love my girlfriend and I’ve wanted to marry her for a while now but the thing that really made me certain was when she offhandedly mentioned that the motor tic I have is really cute. Now I was not under the impression that my motor tic was something to be liked, my parents from an early age told me it wasn’t socially acceptable and that I should probably hide it or work to control it. When she said that she liked something about me that was intrinsic to me and I was taught to not even like about myself I broke down. It remains the single kindest thing anyone’s said to me and it really reassured me that I want to merry her. (Edit: for those who are curious what a tic is I put a small explanation to the best of my knowledge in the replies)

Uhm I'm not the smartest and I dont mean to offend but what's a motor tic?
@ERBanmech
@ERBanmech Жыл бұрын
@@EddieNelly59 no worries it is something that someone often does unconsciously during certain kinds of stimuli. When I’m excited my face and hands usually fidget and I aggressively pace these are both motor tics because they involve body movement and are considered a nontypical reaction to being excited. There are other kinds of tics too called verbal tics where someone will unconsciously say something in certain circumstances when they feel certain things (I don’t have one of these) Everyone has some kind of body language or mannerisms but usually it’s far more pronounced and nontypical when someone has a tic. My parents were probably worried that I would be picked on in school (which I was but I don’t remember if it was particularly for my tic) I hope that explains enough of what a tic is (at least to my understanding), thank you for reading my small Ted Talk.

@@EddieNelly59 of course, don’t sweat it, I’m not offended, I understand that not everyone sees that kind of stuff every day and would need an explanation which I’m happy to give. Thanks for being sensible and understanding.

I was 6 months into the relationship with my wife(We had met at the beginning of January of 2020) So we ended up doing the deed around March and due to some minor complications with her birth control she ended up pregnant. However we had a miscarriage. It brought us closer together and ended up loving each other more. I asked her jokingly in July if I proposed to her tomorrow would she say yes and she said even if I did it with a candy ring pop she would say yes. At that point I knew I wanted to marry her. I proposed in October of 2020. She said yes.

My husband is an avid boater. One of his “tests” for girls he dated was how they were boating with him. If they were more concerned with their looks, it was a pass for him. The first time he took me, when it was my turn to try skiing, I just cannon-balled into the water. He said that was when he wanted a serious relationship with me.

I'm not sure how it happened but my late wife was actually engaged to someone else when we got together. I was told by her I must escort her to a formal dance (I can't dance and her fiancé was at the other end of country) All her friends later told me it was obvious we were destined to marry. Pregnancy brought plans forward but we never regretted it, cancer took her 49 years later. I was very very lucky.

This is more of a “I was going to marry her” story. I met her on Gaia Online back when it was still a popular site. It started out as simply online roleplaying, but we soon exchanged numbers and started texting and occasionally calling each other. She even sent me pictures and she was beautiful. Well, a couple of years into our long distance relationship she seemed to vanish and I started getting worried, then she suddenly started texting me again. I don’t know if she decided to finally tell me the truth or just let it slip, but she said her parents had taken her phone. This certainly set off some red flags for me and I asked how her parents could do that, and she said she was actually 17. At that point, I had no choice but to cut all communication off with her. It wasn’t worth the trouble I could’ve ended up in, even if she was less than a year away from being 18. It still sucked though because not only was she very pretty, we had quite a bit in common and really seemed to connect. I can’t help but wonder how things would’ve turned out if we could’ve continued seeing each other and eventually got married.

Story 13 sort of happened to me. This was back in 2020, I was about to start my new job and hadn't been feeling well for some time, severe abdominal pain like nothing I'd ever felt. Well this went on until late that January and the pain just wouldn't let up, my wife kept wanting to take me to the hospital but I didn't want us getting stuck with a massive bill so I kept telling her no but this particular morning she didn't listen and basically dragged me out of bed and took me to the ER. When we got there I found out that I had a blood sugar level of over 400 and I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything for hours while the doctors did their tests. Turns out I was type 2 diabetic and had been for a while which explains the abdominal pain but the scary part was finding out that if my wife had listened to me and just left for work that morning like usual by the time she got home I would have been dead. I thank God every day for blessing me with a woman like her. She's the love of my life, she saved my life, and that's a debt I can never repay. I wouldn't be here today if not for her.

Yeah 1400 is not uncommon for a Diabetic Really not a good number. For a non Diabetic that number would have killed a person. less carbs more protein. I had a friend that was a DM1. Her death is a major reason I became a nurse. I didn't understand it then. But now I do. I seen her DKO many times. I was always afraid she would die. So I distanced my self a few times. She refuse to watcher her blood sugars. Highest I seen her go was 2400. Which is extremely bad. One time was too much. And I needed a break. Well she went in for a transplant. And they didn't suction her during the surgery. And she died. She drown in her lung excretion. If she had made it she wouldn't of been a Diabetic anymore. It was a spleen transplant. She had finally been approved. The hospital got away with it. Her family didn't sue them. Now. a few years before I had lost my wife. And I was scared. because she refused to do better on her blood sugar. Many times I seen her DKO. And its scary. I didn't want to bury another person. I loved her. But I wasn't in love with her. I was scared to get too close. Which was a good thing. Because she did die. You would be surprised how many doctor and nurses don't really understand DIABETIC. DM1 and DM2 are similar but really are different. Both the person needs a high protein low carb diet. DM1 they need insulin. and diet Dm2 can be controlled by diet By diet i mean what they eat and drink. BTW something interesting. if BS is too high. drink alcohol. one beer will do. 15 minutes later recheck BS. Just something interesting I figured out. Oh BTW if BS is in range. Don't drink a beer. It drops Bs. lol. If blood sugar can't go down. go to the hospital. Don't mess with it. And home machines often multifunction if out of range..I don't know why this is. Above 600. machines may read anything. I've seen this with many machine on many residents. If reading don't match signs.and symptoms.I would send them out. To hospital. Many times I'd make My DONS mad. But everytime. I was right. machine would say something like 220..And the hospital would do blood gas artery stick .And it would come back like 1400 or such. And I would always get some nurse at the hospital ....yak, yak yak. you let thier BS get to high. It really wasn't me. I'm just the one that caught them. Most the time it was because long term care facilities REFUSE to give diabetics real reasonable diets..Always pushing carbs which are bad for them. But cheaper to buy then protein diets. And it doesn't help that most diabetes hoard candy. And last few nurses pay enough attention to their residents. At times I'm glad I stopped doing it. I really wasn't doing it for the money. low carbs high protein for Diabetics

After 2 days of doing what girls do, she was next to me, beautiful and angelic, snoring like an asthmatic rhino. I took a video clip of me prodding her awake saying, "I have video evidence of you snoring," and she grabbed my wrist, exclaimed, "I win, I have arm," and immediately resumed her oblivious snoring. That was the moment. I hounded her until she proposed later that week. This will be my second marriage, but I'm not sure if I've ever been in love before my betrothed.

I actually lived with my wife for probably 4 years as a room mate long before there was anything romantic between us. I got kicked out when I was 16, Mai lived down the street from me and had seen my old beat up car at my house and at the only grocery store (which I also happened to work at) within walking distance. She asked if I could give her a ride to the store or back depending on my work schedule. Then she stopped seeing my car at my house but saw it at work. She got nosey and checked on my car and I was in the back sleeping. AFter I explained what happened she insisted I come stay with her, as she could use the transportation and some extra money. (she had twin daughters) Anyway, 4 years and a few bad relationshits she told me after I came home early from a particularly bad date that "Someone needs to save you from these American whores!", a year later we got married. What really made me like her, and I say this as a joke but also because despite being a petite and angelic Japanese princess it's also true. She asked me one night out of the blue to "pull my finger". Fart jokes were just that, jokes. Instead of whining about it, just enjoy it for what it is.

I mean what is so bad for a 18 year old to date a 16 year old. You think just because you are a legal adult with 18 you can't have a girlfriend 2 years younger than you? This is messed up logic. It would be creepy if she were 14, but 16? Really? I think a age gap of 2 or 3 years for teens is okay. Everything over and it gets kinda meh. This is in TEEN years, as two full adults i don't care what the age gap is since it's none of my buisness who a stranger does it with. But let the teens be teens. In my eyes people are to hung up about the "now that you are 18 you need to be more mature and can't interact with anyone younger than you or you are a pdf file" bulls***

well really you want the answer? The moment I very first seen her. Then I seen something and I backed away. The next time I talked to her. Which was a couple weeks later She came up to me in in the chow hall as I was chowing down on my salad ( lunch) and asked. Are you a pencil or a telephone pole? In which I looked at her a second. While finishing my bite..And replied Neither. She sat down. bewildered by by reply She ate with me everyday after. And 2 weeks later. She found out was neither was. ( that was when you got our first pass) ( we were both getting a new MOS) I never meet a girl so happy. Over 25 years later I still love her. Just wish she would have lived a lot longer. But better my load to bear then her's I wouldn't want her to go through anything I did.

I know no one really believes in love at first sight. But I had been dreaming of her for over 2 year. I don't mean the idea. But her. I never seen her prior to this first meeting. Yet, I had seen her for two years in my dreams. I was willing to walk away in the beganing. And I gave her many chances to walk away. A year later. I called her at lunch and asked her if she wanted to get married that evening. She found someone that would do it. She got our marriage licence. And that evening we went strait from my formation to the preachers house and got married. The next day she went and got us both miniature legal copies. And I kept mine in my wallet until it fell apart many years later. I never regretted marring her cute butt. She gave me the best years of my life. We never talked about prior to this. She may not even known that I was willing to marry her. But pretty much she was my match. We were so intuned. I know people joke about people finishing sentences. But... The only time we were not in tuned was the day she was killed. And I think that somehow I was. Just I wanted to deny it. The poor girl that brought me the news. Tried for over 10 minutes to tell me nicely. She ended up just saying. God damnit your wife was killed 5 hours ago. Which I stared at all three of them. Then one of the officers told me that they had to put her Commander on leave before they could tell me. They made sure the SOB was out of the state before the came told me. And I couldn't see her for 7 days because of 9/11. I pretty much don't remember the next couple years. tiny bits and pieces. I slowly recovered. I tried many times to move on. But what really hurts. Is EVERY woman I went on a date with. Would ask .... How did you kill your wife? I remember one girl asked me that. We were 30 miles from her house. I put my fork down stood up. walked out of the restaurant..And left her there. That is an instant red flag. I would never ask someone a question like that. And she wasn't the first or last to ask that exact question. But she was the one that had to walk home 30 miles. Never did a woman ask me... How did she die? Or any other way..Always it was as question implying I killed her. How did you kill your wife? So after awhile I just stopped dating. Oh and the implying that since I was not married. That it had to be my fault. Never did a woman think. Hey, this guy had a happy marriage. He was doing something right. he knows his shit. The only reason he is available was a tragic accident. maybe I should treat him as something rare and good. Its difficult because I don't hate her. I still love her. And she gave me the best years of my life. I know I sound like a snob. But someone missed a great opportunity. To of had something great. And don't think that I was picking. I gave any woman a chance. tall short, thin fat and all between. Yet every woman the same question. How did you kill your wife?
